I was alarmed by the rate too. But I went into the app and adjusted the projected mileage to what I'll actually drive. Now my total rate increase is only like thirty dollars.
I hope people are sending these ideas directly to Tesla. Several of them could be addressed by updates.

I had the same thought. The people at the delivery center actually told me that my thousand dollars was not applicable to a non foundation model. I ended up taking delivery of a Foundation model anyway. It's more than I wanted to pay but its not a bad deal if you planned up upgrading the wheels...

I know it was successfully electroplated in gold. I imagine its possible to do other treatments. Probably void your warranty though considering you have to run current through the body.
