A bit of irony...you complain about "mechanical issue with the motor noise" in the CB....all the while your AWD is a lemon that has spend 45+ days in service.... :D
IMHO, from your use case, get the Premium AWD. There is nothing financially sound about getting CB.
Your questions and my answers as a CB owner as above.
In what situation/trail?? For such a big and heavy vehicle, the CT is really not a great technical off-roader. Since you live in CO, a trail like Poughkeepsie would be very difficult simply from the size and weight. I transverse that trail in my G-wagen in 2004 and it was difficult as heck...
The original posts by me are NOT meant to show that the CT is a Porsche or even a Luce or a Prius.
Instead they are meant to show that torque vectoring does indeed work very well and overcomes the FWD-bias nature of CB around corners. That is my only purpose. I wanted to share the data from a...
My off-road gnarly comparison comment is between torque vectoring and rear locker. NOT between rear locker and no locker. Thus I stand behind my above comment based on my past off-roading experiences.
Motortrend testing protocol is meant to be repeatable and environment controlled as much as...
0.7 seconds is a big margin when you compare apples to apples and then you add in the g difference. (A man of taste likes to make random comparisons between an apple and a tic tac. 😄). Note that I was making a comparison between two vehicles of nearly identical setup.

To see the advantage of axle lockers in an area where it separates from the rest of the crowd is over rocky terrain and ledges...and going 5 mph or less.
And in such an environment where full on mechanical lockers at both axles are needed, CT or any full-size truck (or SUV) will be at a grave...
To answer my own question, I did some digging about handling differences between the two models:
https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/cb-vs-awd-in-handling%E2%80%A6the-data.58531/
As you all know, AWD model is more rear-wheel drive bias than the Cyberbeast (CB) by design of the powertrain.
But CB has torque vectoring on the rear axle for handling.
The question then is…does this mean that AWD is better in handling and/or emergency maneuvers due to RWD-bias nature? Or...
I am sure that you can find one...but make sure that it has the STICKY gel along with the suction cup. Suction cup alone will NOT stick to the back reliably.
