Bummer.
I had an F-150 I bought in Alberta ruined by a detailer. As you know, lots of chips with the sand / rocks put down instead of salt. The guy I bought the truck from took really good care of it. Apparently had had is "squeejied." I brought it to Minnesota and no one knows about that...
What?? The windshield cracked? What kind of crap glass is Tesla using : )
The other driver should be put in jail. Passing in a no passing zone over a hill? You can't fix F'en stupid.
The CT driver did well is keeping the thing straight. It is shocking to be hit head on.
This is more of a city truck.
Which is what it should be. Until battery tech doubles in capacity an electric truck is pretty much not that great for off road / exploring, etc.
I am still waiting for the 39K original price for Cyber and Lightning. We would love to get rid of one of our Teslas...
Well, it is clear that EV pickups are not ready for prime time.
The battery tech is just not there yet. Trucks do inefficient things like tow stuff. EVs are based on being very efficient. So there is a clash between the fundamentals of EVs and the fundamentals of trucks.
And unless there is...
Well, CT seems to be one of the rare business failures for Elon. How did it go from 2 million pre-orders to selling just a few thousand each quarter?
Given how much Elon does, he will have a few failures along the way. But the guy has an incredible track record.
I am surprised FSD didn't react. It would have known there were no cars in the other lane / behind, etc. I guess AI is slower than code.
I am sure I would have reacted. Probably would still have hit Mr. Turkey but my reflexes would have moved the wheel to the left.
Before 5 am? Either he has been out all night - or he is a real go getter and heading to workout early before class.
Reminds me when I flew into Clark Airbase in the Philippines. Old crusty guys were having beers at 10 am in an outside bar. Wasn't sure if it was the first beer of the day or...
Wait, this is AFTER he hit a fire hydrant? He was obviously going way too fast. This looks like a suburb so max speed limit is 45.
Who gives a vehicle like this to an 18 year old? Even a responsible one.
Anyway, hope he recovers.
Wait as long as you can. Price has no where to go but down.
Honestly, I do not see a large market for an expensive EV - especially with limited range. Model Y and 3 are great as they are the cheapest decent transportation out there. Tesla is selling only a handful of X and S each month.
I...
Not sure how CarMax can stay in business. Who is going to buy a used CT for almost the price a new one? And if they are sharp enough, they can get one of the discounted ones for 74K.
I feel for the parents and relatives. I lost a 15 year old brother to a car accident- it was horrible. And just lost a 19 year old nephew a few months ago - hit while crossing the road in a cross walk.
Imagine being the parent that gave them the Cyber Truck - not a vehicle for any teenager -...
