Sold my non-foundation CT yesterday. Pristine condition with 6K miles. Paid $79,900 and CarMax gave me $69,000. I definitely took a hit but not as bad as I thought it would be.

I want to be clear that the CT is unequivocally one of the nicest vehicles I have ever driven. Smooth, powerful and steer-by-wire is kinda life changing. That said, selling it was the right thing for *me. As much as I enjoyed the truck, there is no getting around the fact that it screams "look at me" and I didn't realize just how much it screams that until I owned one and it got to be a bit too much. Also realized that the size of the vehicle was a bit of an issue for me. Furthermore, the grandkids have their own cars now so it's just me and my dog 99% of the time I drive so there's that. Eh. Live and learn.

I ordered up a new Model Y LR and will be taking delivery within 1-3 weeks.

It was a pleasure interacting with all of you on this forum. Enjoy your CT's
Enjoy the new Model Y, please report back after having the Y for 1,000 miles or so and give us your compare and contrast as I am sure others are considering the same thing.

Sold mine last week. After over 30k miles with about 10% of those miles driving, or being towed to a service center, that finally pushed me to get into a different EV. Steer by wire is still my favorite thing ever in any vehicle. After a week or so and 1k miles not driving a CT, I don’t miss my CT as much as I thought I would. Maybe in a few years fsd will improve enough for me to use it and quality will be better overall. It was a good 12 months of CT but not good enough for me to keep it.

This has been a reason holding me back from following through with preorder. I don’t like standing out. I like have done 2 test drives and loved it. Incredibly tempting.

That’s a decent offer especially them being a middle man. I was curious and entered my fs beast with 10,000 miles in Carvana and they offered $69,000 as well.

Not sure how CarMax can stay in business. Who is going to buy a used CT for almost the price a new one? And if they are sharp enough, they can get one of the discounted ones for 74K.

I completely get it. The CT is probably the nicest vehicle I have ever driven. That said, you can't really dress it down.

I paid 80K for my non-foundation CT so I only took an 11K hit. Eh. It was worth it considering I drove it for almost 6 months. Carvana only offered me 58.5K. I would hang on to at that price. 69K seems super light for a CyberBeast!

I think they were counting on the newly imposed tariffs raising the price of a new one.
