Thanks for sharing this with us averyk12. I hope you have a good and "secure" experience with version V3. Were you able to see or learn what difference(s) there may be for Tesla changing the part # from V2 to V3.
One thing you have to be careful about with the bar showing (which I also see on mine) is that it can jam the tonneau while opening if you put something long like a ladder in the bed of the truck that catches on the bar. That is how I discovered the bar being there on mine.
I really would like to see the 2nd half of your first sentence happen for those that are willing to pay. I had to pay for it on my 2013 purchase of the model s. As for the rest of the debate, I will pass, since arguments always do reflect different points of view.
Thanks for the feedback. I see you are coming up on having it for 2 months at the end of next week from your earlier post. I hope you have no attachment fail issues in the future. Please update us if you do.
Thanks Interlinked for sharing your experience. When did you have it installed and was it a V3 version. You can check your service notes for the version #.
8k miles on mine and I have the same loss of tactile feel on the front only as well. I think the tactile feel goes away fastest with the doors that are used the most.
Thanks for sharing this
Thanks for sharing Avery K12. I started this thread at the beginning of July. It is interesting to see different part #s for the lightbar over time. Maybe they are trying to do something internally inside the lightbar to better thermally protect the adhesive.
Thanks for the heads-up Redmiata. When you have your Version 3 lightbar installed on September 1st please let us know if you or the technicians installing it see external or internal changes. My service center has not seen V3 yet, but I will be checking for when they do.
TeslaKen please check the V#. I checked on Wednesday with my service center and they are still installing the old versions on hand. I am waiting for them to have V3. They had not seen this new part number yet so it may now be just getting to some service centers.
Not Acceptable under any circumstances. Don't give up on getting it corrected. I am not going to have this service done until absolutely necessary. If and when so, they will need to correct any defects in workmanship not me.
I was not able to get an update on the status of my lightbar installation delay for the supposed "revised version" they said was coming out later this year, because the service center moved my Monday appointment to August 22nd for fixing the work done when replacing the missing slat that caused...
I want to take control of whether I want FSD to detect when it thinks wiping is needed. I want to have a display button that simply says "wipers off" that would stay off for the entire current drive even when engaging and un-enguaging FSD throughout the entire current drive. It is very...
This is the same redesign answer that I received concerning an actual revision to the light bar. It was not just the new revised application method. I will ask again on Monday when I am having follow-up service for a miss-aligned tonneau cover when they replaced the missing slat. I will see if...
Thank you TeslaKen for the latest from bringing up this question to engineering last Saturday on this confusion regarding why there was a hold on new lightbar installs. It does seem strange to me that Tesla would not have better communication with all of the service center managers on this. It...
I don't want to permanently disable it during a current drive just temporarily for the current drive. It's good to have it reset to auto if you stop driving. Otherwise I think we are pretty used to being able to turn on a wiper for rain. It is useless as far as stopping sun glare, dirt on...
