Agreed. That is why I want to see an easy solution to give the driver back control to stop it. It is very annoying when on a day's long interstate drive. Hopefully it will be improved and totally fixed one day, but until then I want to have override control to stop it on the display or by...
It would of course be better is Tesla solved the problem of false rain wipes, but until then having a way to stop it from resetting during just the current drive is needed.
Not likely to be an accident due to not having false rain wipes on a perfectly sunny day. If conditions change where rain is possible I would just say the command to set wipers back to "auto" or "on".
The problem is that every time you command saying "wiper off" it forgets that and resets to "auto" whenever traffic conditions or (camera misreads that cause false slowdowns) force you to cancel FSD. Every time you do the wiper resets to "auto" and the wiper starts up again wiping the...
I received the same notice last month and when I went to the service center for my missing tonneau slat repair last week, they had the present lightbar version, but confirmed a new one was in development and gave me the option to wait to see what the revised version would be. I decided to wait.
I had my missing tonneau slat installed earlier this month. The light bar and cantrail were put on the list of services needed by the service center. When I arrived for the slat install, the service manager confirmed that a revised light bar was in the works and that I could wait or have the...
I would like to see an "wiper off" button on the display screen for drive times on a sunny day in FSD and Autopilot to stop the wiper from wiping a dry windshield. That would provide a good solution to this problem.
Found some good info using AI on this subject:
Yes, foam inserts used for sound deadening in tires can sometimes detach, causing tire balance problems and vibrations. This is a known issue, particularly with tires on electric vehicles (EVs) and luxury cars, where reducing road noise is a...
Yes Art138, removing the foam solved the problem. I feel that this is definitely a safety issue when it occurs. The bouncing vibration was so very extreme that I felt unsafe at interstate speeds between 65-80 miles and had to slow down to an unsafe speed for going with the flow of traffic...
Just came from 3rd appointment at Discount Tire to try to get tires balanced after continuing problem with extreme vibration at interstate speeds. They discovered that the foam insert was not attached and had bunched up inside the my Cyberbeast's AT tire. It looked like there was never any...
Thanks interlinked for your update on your Light Bar installation. It seems that not all service centers are holding off on installations. We will see hopefully soon what the real story is regarding a "new version" that some service centers said will be available in the future.
The part number shows it starting with V1-Not sure if it means version 1, so maybe a revision will be confirmed in the future that might show V2-for version 2.
Thanks AnxiousInMO for your update. There seems to be inconsistent actions on this by service centers. We will appreciate your sharing what you find out tomorrow and what others experience over the coming days.
Thanks for the heads up on the information from your service center. I reposted your report to my thread : "Breaking: Light Bar Installs on Hold Confirmed by Tesla" since I got the same message from my service center.
This is what forum member sys700 said today 7/8:
"My Tesla service center said they’ll have new parts in August. There is a redesign. Hopefully it has brackets."
Will appreciate your updating us on whether your installation is completed. The original post about a hold on current installs from another forum member said he was not notified by his service center that his installation was cancelled until the day before his appointment.
Since I received my invitation for the light bar on June 25th and this "new" hold just occurred about 2 weeks after your notice, I am thinking that it does not have anything to do with the adhesive changes. I guess we will have to wait and see what more of us experience over the coming days...
I don't think so, because the SC at first said they didn't know about any hold, but after checking it out for me they responded that it was indeed now on a total hold for a revision.
