That really sucks. Sounds like you had to work through pretty major decision and needed time.
My gut says that this is what will be expected moving forward. People will logon on Friday. Order if they can or expect it will disappear some short time later.
This solves two problems:
1. They...
You are correct! It is a package and we are INFERRING the value of the parts.
As you can see I’m my spreadsheets, the inferred value of the cyberbeast parts are within $190 of the $20K value
Doing the same comparison for the AWD shows a $4790 difference. If you added that $4790 to the $7k...
Many reasons they will give. Here are a few.
1. Weight distribution- higher so it affects driving dynamics
2. Battery cooling- double stacking would require a different cooling module. Possibly a redesign, but at least an improvement.
3. Cost
4. Range
5. Suspension geometry
6. Production...
Some of y’all have trouble reading. Here it is again…
“ Selecting Full-Self Driving today will secure your price as it increases in the future.”
As for honoring the FSD price in the foundation orders. It is being honored in the cyberbeast, not in the AWD.
Please see this post:

The Cyberbeast looks to be a better value compared to the AWD from a foundation package perspective. This Cyberbeast total is $19,810, and the AWD total is $15,210. The difference in prices due to the PowerShare installation and lightbar not being included on the AWD variant.
I used to think the same thing you did. But my opinions have evolved based on the interviews with Monroe. Let’s take the 340 miles of range currently on the dual motor. You would have to get a 50% increase in battery capacity to get the range you want. I do not believe they are going to change...
They have FSD
I generally agree with the uncertainty that everyone has stated. But I’ll throw in one additional variable. If production does not meet demand and we truly do have a multi year backlog of buyers. Then any version of the cybertruck could be more valuable than the initial...
Dual motor is January to March
trimotor is mid to late 2024
The question is, does this affect existing foundation orders, or will the new timelines only apply to new orders?
