Depends on how one drives. My lifetime average is 253 Wh/mile which spans 1.5 mid Minnesota winters and 1 summer, including about 1000 miles with a 17' canoe on the roof of the Model Y LR. That gets my lifetime range pretty close to the EPA claim. Went to town today on our local highways...
The speed limit on the big highways here is also 65-70 but on the smaller highways it's either 55 or 60. I drive quite a bit on the faster roads too but usually not more than the speed limit +5. At the heat you keep the car I'd need to have the window open and my dog would be halfway out the...
Speed limit ("It's the LAW" :) ). Mostly 55, some 45 coming into the town and a little at 30 in Cambridge (pretty small town). I was very warm but then I'm born and raised in MN. 3-10 degrees F isn't that cold for here. It was -11 F last night so the Model Y was pretty much cold soaked, but...
I'm a pretty conservative driver (Tesla insurance mandated) but the range you're getting is not in line with my experience at all. My lifetime average is 253 Wh/mile which spans 1.5 mid Minnesota winters and 1 summer, including about 1000 miles with a 17' canoe on the roof of the Model Y LR...
Agree. Something else that isn't talked about much is that it seems the new 800v chargers will allow the Cybertruck to charge much faster with less strain on the battery. The dual 400v/800v architecture allows optimal charging with either existing or future charging stations.
I regularly run into the opinion in forums (and elsewhere) that older people don't appreciate technology or even new ideas. Not really true. Almost everyone I know that has ordered a Cybertruck (or Tesla in general) is over 70, but then of course I know quite a few people over 70. The people...
Munro has talked about it a bit. There are systems in existence. As far as real world practicality for a lot of us: I go for days without using the brake pedal except to shift into gear from park. I do try to use it now and then to keep the rotors from rusting. So perhaps not much of an...
Interesting idea but I wonder if wheel well covers would work with the rear wheel steering, especially since Tesla is going to roll out greater angles as they evolve the software.
Hopefully everyone who can afford the Founders Edition will get an invite soon. I'm going to wait a while and enjoy the Model Y in the meantime. Can't justify the early price for my use case. Would like to see a lot of Cybertrucks flooding the roads though!
It was telling that Kyle and company went on and on about how the headlights got brighter when holding down the button (pulling back the stalk on other cars), not knowing that it simply turns on both the low and high beams. Kind of makes one wonder. That said I'll also be interested in seeing...
Just watched the video and thought it was useful. He's not a guy that's normally overly positive. Watching it made me want a Cybertruck even more, if that's possible: regular stainless steel finish, dual motor, standard black interior.
Best solution in my opinion (for my use) and what I plan to do. A "Breezer" type window is a thought though.
That said, the floor with the back seats folded up looks like a good sleeping spot.
When I was looking at buying a used Model S from Tesla a few years ago the destination fee varied. Amounts were $0, $500, $1000, $1500, $2000 depending on the distance the Tesla "showroom" was from me. Seems it's different for new vehicles.
Chart posted a couple days ago by Troy Teslike:
Couldn't find that this had been posted before. Of course the Cybertruck (under 80k version) should be eligible for the full rebate and it also seems that the Model 3 Performance, Model X (under 80k) and all Model Y versions should be eligible...
Buy and hold. It's volatile and like everything else will be affected by the macro environment. That said, there are many long term possibilities, any of which could cause a large upward move. FSD, Optimus, next gen lower priced model, various licensing agreements, etc.
Interesting. I wonder if a lesser version of this technology could be rolled out to some earlier vehicles via a software update? Not that my Model Y is particularly noisy, but less noise is better.
