  1. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

Solar panels work great for charging the CT at the cabin. How do I refill the CT when I’m 2-1/2 hours away from the cabin up in the mountains, at my claim, on Property that the Government won’t allow the construction of a small building let alone a solar arrays big enough to charge the CT. Back...
  2. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

Nice discussion about the future and I too live in a cabin away from all the necessities that you speak about. Soooo, a solar system on the cabin is in my future to charge up my CT. Getting fuel is an absolute hassle at times. When I head to the mountains I typically carry 10 to 20 gallons of...
  3. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

Couldn’t agree more with your post. Running out of gas is one story, no juice in the EV? Well that’s a totally different story. I’m on the list for a dual motor FSD and I can’t wait to see what the Cybertruck has to offer.
  4. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

“It’s not that big a deal, they already lights wired out there”, had to think about that one a bit,?, granted I’m not an electrical engineer but.... I’m pretty certain, breaker sizes, cable sizes would not be adequate, for the demand that would be placed on a lighting circuit any motel might...
  5. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

Wife just forwarded an article claiming 1 in 5 EV owners switched back to ICE in California, claiming charging is a hassle. It’s not going to be an issue for this old timer but I can see problems in the future. The infrastructure today for EV population is not there yet. Even if it was, imagine...
  6. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

uhhh... I know what the article says but.... yes, the “truck has to be running”, but that’s not totally true. You press the start button as if you were going somewhere, activate the power system by pressing a button, but, the ICE never started up. I ran circular saws, drills and stuff in my...
  7. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

Out in my county ya gotta drive a far piece to get anywhere. We don’t talk miles, it’s hours or days to the next town that may have something ya need. My claim is 2-1/2 hours away and there ain’t no charging station in between that I know of. There are a couple RV spots that I’m checking out...
  8. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

Ok... for anyone that cares.... 3 pulls 0-60 at altitude 7,000 feet, 6 secs., 6 secs, and 5.96 secs on the final pull. Beat my buddy’s twin turbo 150 by .9 secs. Nothing to boast about but was something the wife would’ve snacked me upside the head for doing it.
  9. F150 Powerboost Hybrid

I just purchased the F150 3.5 Powerboost Hybrid to find out for myself the Pro’s and Con’s of Hybrid Truck vs EV Truck. I’m still excited about the Cybertruck but I’m around 96k on that list. So Far: 1) Lariat version to rich/plush for this old timer. So I went for the XLT that’s about $12k...
  10. ? Cybertruck Spotted at Giga Texas Plant! + Interior Look with Yoke Steering Wheel and Performance Pedals!

Are we planning a party when the first one comes off the line? If so, please send me an invite and I’ll be there.?
  11. Anyone considering getting Solar with the new Green Act

I just signed a contract with Blue Sky Solar and Roofing via Chase Fowler who coordinates the financial and logistical side of the purchase/installation. Everybody would agree that Charging the CT via the sun, would provide the lowest operating cost (leaving out the cost of the solar system)...
  12. Who Else is Hoping for a Redesign for Wife's Acceptance?

Wife said; “Why do you need a computer?”. I said; “It’s the future honey, everybody is gonna have one”. Wife said; “Why do you need a cellphone?, I said; “it’s the future honey, everybody is gonna have one”. She don’t ask anymore, she’s just goes with it.?
  13. Are we thinking there will be a re-shuffle of orders?

I’m curious, why wouldn’t there be some sort of “re-shuffle” as we get closer to delivery. Are we suggesting that every person who have placed an order will still be alive at the time of delivery? I know this ole timer is wondering if he’ll still be alive by then?
  14. First look at the Cybertruck’s 8,000-ton Giga Press!

To many 8,000 tons is merely a number. To me... an retired underground Longwall Automation Engineer, it’s more like; “Oh My God” what a beast. Longwall Roof Supports contain (2) 350mm bore Hydraulic cylinders requiring some 4,500 psi to achieve something around 1,100 tons of pressure. Folks...
  15. Update VOTE: Should we do a “Cybertruck Lightbar "Wave"?”

Only neighborly thing to do round here is to wave at most folks you pass by. Not sure anyone will notice my wave while driving the CT cause they’ll be checking out the truck as I pass by.
  16. Wow! Buying a Tesla....best experience ever! Even at the dealer and when not a preorder!

Great story and thanks for sharing, I’ve always said; “The PEOPLE working for the company makes the difference”. I truly hope Tesla continues to realize that and invest in their employees as time moves on. Looking forward to meeting these fine people when I go to pickup my CT.
  17. The cost of driving an EV?

Soooo, last year we leased the new 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, being a nutcase on data, I tracked the actual mileage this vehicle realized over a year (58.5mpg). It’s the wife’s car and she is now boasting her Hybrid will out perform my CT on fuel cost per mile. Fuel in our area was, (big...
  18. Purchase Sight Unseen...?

I only once ordered something before, 2006 HD Screamin Eagle Vrod Destroyer, traveled to the Dakota’s to set on that bad boy before I took delivery. I’ll do the same with my CT, don’t much care where I gotta go but I’ll; “Set in the Bad Boy before I take delivery”. Who knows, I may even get to...
  19. Cybertruck Rims?

My CT won’t see any curbs, a rock or a log most likely, not a curb. I would have suspected the height of the tire would be much taller than the curbs anyways? IDK, my trucks always jump the dang curb not rub rims.
  20. Cybertruck-Making it uniquely yours.

I’m gonna ask for the signature version; “To Pappy, enjoy cause it’ll be the last Truck you’ll ever need, Signed Elon Musk That will make it Unique enough for this old coal miner.
