  1. Tesla won't take Cybertruck trade-in ever

The state of the auto market will likely only get worse. The last 3 years people have been paying more than even "premium" prices for cars in the US. Like the housing "bubble" this bubble will burst as well. Vehicle prices were just INSANE! MOST people who bought a car in the last few years...
  2. First Jerry rig everything, now mark rober 🧐

Vision can work just as well for aeb as by the time the other systems "see" a vehicle you can probably see it with your own eyeballs. Regardless, it sounds like you and I won't agree. And, I'd prefer not to hijack this thread seeing as what we are discussing isn't related to the OP's topic...
  3. First Jerry rig everything, now mark rober 🧐

Well, I'm just repeating what Tesla/Elon has already stated. And, at least for me, if the Lidar/Radar isn't being used with the self driving software then there would be absolutely no point in having it. It would just be a complete waste of money. Without self driving I'd prefer to save money...
  4. First Jerry rig everything, now mark rober 🧐

TL:DR - Lidar and Radar signals have diminishing results the worse the weather. The processing time needed to interpret the second set of data (radar/lidar) and combine it with the vision data takes too long. By the time the data can be used the data is too old and no longer relevant. --- The...
  5. WhistlinDiesel Cybertruck Durability Torture Test #1 (vs F-150)

I was pretty dang happy with the CT in that video. Most things have been covered in previous comments. But, a couple I was thinking of weren't: Some points he prayed as negative were actually positive for me. 1) the pull away fenders. My trucks have faced being scratched by brush and my metal...
  6. Cybertruck Demo Test Drives Are Here and Expanding to New Locations

I completed the demo drive today in Austin,Tx. I was the first one this morning. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. The staff was fantastic. The familiarization bit was quick and minimal. I had absolutely zero time to explore the menu. One could bring a +1 and I drove. The drive felt like...
  7. Cybertruck crashes into a ditch and here's the result

CT, obviously, at a high rate of speed, ran off the right side of the roadway into the "bar ditch." The driver over corrected, the truck rolled onto the passenger side, and traveled some distance while the skin on the side of the truck was sheared off by the ground. Due to the weight of the...
  8. Cybertruck T-Bone accident at high speed - damage photos

My opinion, for what it is worth and because many others seem to be expressing theirs: I was LE for 26 years and for over seven years of those I was a traffic officer -someone whose primary job is to respond to and investigate collisions. I am actually pretty impressed with the lack of...
  9. Bumper Light Bar by M&R Automotive installed on Cybertruck 🚥

I would suggest adding a pictue in the OP with the light bar turned OFF. That way people can see what it would look like "normally." Most people I know don't turn those lower lights on unless they need them.
  10. 35 miles until a problem- now resolved

Please update your original post - that way those of us that are curious about the end result don't have to read through all the posts to try to find this one. AND, there are many who will read your OP, jump to the end, and never realize your issue was resolved. Finally, there are many that...
  11. Tool box for bed?

There probably isn't one being manufactured by an aftermarket company yet. I would suggest contacting a custom trailer company in your area/region. They have welders that work for them and do similar work for their trailers regularly. They might be able to easily modify a current product...
  12. New leaked video! Many Cybertrucks production completed w/ new wheel design + finished frunks!

I was a traffic cop for most of my 26 year career. I've been to lots of training on collision investigation and I've, personally, worked at least 1000 wrecks. Never in my training or experience has anything indicated a large incompressible mass in front of the occupants would be anything other...
  13. New leaked video! Many Cybertrucks production completed w/ new wheel design + finished frunks!

That was a wall of text. I'm 55. I can certainly do things without automation. But, some of that automation makes my life easier, makes mundane tasks faster, and life more enjoyable. So, this youngster is happy to have them - but, certainly doesn't need them!
  14. New leaked video! Many Cybertrucks production completed w/ new wheel design + finished frunks!

I'm not worried about closing it manually. Just would like to be able to open it via a voice command as I approach in the event my and are full and I can't manipulate my phone/key card. All good. I'm sure a solution will be available even if it doesn't work that way upon release.
  15. New leaked video! Many Cybertrucks production completed w/ new wheel design + finished frunks!

You absolutely do NOT want that massive motor between you and your family. In any motor vehicle collision there are three collisions: 1 - the vehicle with an external object. 2 - the human body(ies) colliding with the interior, and 3 - internal organs colliding with internal body supports...
  16. New leaked video! Many Cybertrucks production completed w/ new wheel design + finished frunks!

I will look into those. However, the key would be that I can give my phone a voice command to open the frunk.
  17. New leaked video! Many Cybertrucks production completed w/ new wheel design + finished frunks!

Personally, as a handyman who does quite a bit of construction I'm fine with the smaller frunk. I'll, mostly, be putting my electric hand tools/hand tools up there (tool belt, circular saw, router, batteries, etc.) Anything else (and, anything larger) will go in the back. Non-work use - I just...
  18. 350 mile range Quad Motor rumored to be 1st trim launched

Same. I'll happily wait for the 500 Mike range version....
