There is now way you could consider this test anything but an amazing success. They never intended for it to land successfully (Elon only gave it a 30% chance).
By every metric:
-collection of data
-flight time
-fin motors
-belly flop
-glide
-kick out for vertical landing
-getting back to launch...
I worked in a unionized pulp and papermill as a student. This mill has been operating since 1910, was once the largest pulp and paper mill in the world. The same mill is now on it's last legs and IMO in large part due to unions. I watched as staff fell asleep for 4 hrs of a 12 hr shift. When I...
I'm also on Vancouver Island. We've owned a M3 for a year and half now and the thought has crossed my mind, ie if it needed repair then what. I'd have to go to go to the mainland. Services is almost discouraged in that really you should go in before the 4 yr warranty is up just in case they can...
Fake news, saw the interview and Elon was just being polite answering a question diplomatically. No scenario where it would make any sense for Tesla to merge with existing OEM.
A battery producer, raw materials company, bleeding edge tech company maybe.
FYI, Tesla's been reaching out to CT reservation owners to start a lease on another Telsa, maybe worth looking into? Perhaps you can swing some sort of deal?
Anyone on the forum get an e-mail?
I know that I've read a number of you have been tossing around the idea. Might be worth a call to see what kind of deal you can make?
Some of the lease toward paying the CT, make sure the lease ends when you take delivery of CT, etc.
Would be curious what...
Well since my daughters helped name my wife's M3 'Parsillia Rainbow Dash'....
I thought I'd name the CT myself ;)
If my mining stocks help Pay for the CT I'll probably go with 'Nickel'. Double use, batteries and Stainless Steel.
It's been reported in many cases where the Tesla glass roof is orders of magnitude stronger. The thinnest metal used in your typical car is the roof. as it only has to hold paint and keep rain off. Tesla's glass roof actually broke the testing equipment...
Don't know that I agree with his spot weld hypothesis. I understood that the tiny wires were intended to act as a fuse. Should one cell short, it's physically removed from the circuit.
As said above they already have this for a surprising number of functions: song selection/search, volume, temperature, fan speed, open glove box, retract side mirrors, haven't tried open trucks but I assume so. They'll only add more and more as they update.
It's also amazing how good it works...

Finally
This'll be interesting to see how it will practically roll out!
'But adding Tesla is no easy feat after the stock’s record run pushed the company’s market valuation above $380 billion, making it...
Possible hint a new steering wheel?
Was looking at article for Model S update and saw this new wheel concept.

Personally wouldn't mind a few controls in the middle of the wheel.
Not a bad spot for a...
Currently restoring a 19' Scamp 5th wheel trailer. I plan to give a lift it so the goose neck will reach into bed of CT. Won't be able to fine tune this set up until I actually get the truck, but I've already selected the wrap for the trailer, flat black bottom half and brushed aluminum for top...
One massive advantage to EVs is you can sit there in a line up with the AC running. Yes it does use energy but not as much as you'd think. We routinely sit in ferry line ups, for the trip across on the ferry and have the interior is nice and cool. Coudn't do this with OCE as they won't let you...
