Also, WTF is wrong with Ford? It's insane to advertise a certain price and let the dealers mark it up like this. This kind of tactic alone will drive sales directly to Tesla.
Now if only Tesla would start making the damn truck....
Most switches have POE ports that turn off/on based on the device you plug in.
My guess is that your switch is not properly detecting that a POE device is plugged in, and thus not supplying POE. Something about the signaling is changing when you connect through the (unpowered) POE injectors...
First, normal CPU operating temperatures are around 155F. And that is in a climate controlled interior room.
Second, have you ever lived in Phoenix or LA? There's no way your tesla is staying below 105 when you leave it in the sun at 115 all day long. Most vehicles easily reach 200F. The AC...
One of many reasons the Tesla drive experience is superior to Ford, GM, (probably Rivian), etc. The others are clinging to the old ways, familiarity is holding them back from making a truly better vehicle.
Musk is the only one with the balls to take a chance on radical new features.
I'm a fan of these ideas.
The first one would only work on a left-right sweeping wiper. Awesome.
Second idea: totally. Wipers would only need to cycle sporadically to keep the windshield clear and clean. If you're plugged in, it could be once per minute. Could get ice buildup in some...
Serious question here:
What are the actual chances of Rivian still existing 5 or 10 years from now? Their plan is to build a new plant in Georgia, construction starting this summer. Maybe Amazon and Ford are willing to bankroll this, but then what?
By 2025 when Rivian's output is finally...
Yeah, Tanks.
Currently down to $99.30. Down 14% today. Down 7% from IPO.
They're burning $1.2 billion per quarter. And have built about 700 vehicles. Yet they're valued 25% higher than ford. If that is a reasonable valuation, then TSLA stock should probably be around $50,000/share right now...

Great thread, fun discussion.
The linear motor / vertical wiper blade is starting to make more sense to me. I'm still not too sure about execution in ice/snow, but it just might work. If Tesla can pull it off, I think it would have big advantages in aerodynamics, and would remove water/snow...
I think for a lot of us, the beauty of the pass-through is the ability to sleep comfortably inside the truck. If there is enough room in the cab for sleeping, and the seats fold flat, that would be a better solution than a pass through, IMO, and Tesla could just forget trying to accommodate it...
This is big news! I can only think of three reasons to make the roof overhang into the bed like that.
1) Slightly better aerodynamics when the bed is open. I doubt this is the reason.
2) Makes the tonneau cover shorter, and therefore more compact
3) Provides room for a rolled-up tonneau to be...
Hilarious. Ridiculous. Jeep clearly doesn't care about aerodynamics, which means they don't care about efficiency. And that Honda looks like a Cybertruck-Lincoln lovechild.
Another thought, maybe someone else brought this up... This single wiper isn't going to cover enough of the windshield. I think there would need to be two of them, if they go with this design. Actually it might look a LOT better with two BAW's than it does with one.
