I bet they will change their design. It does NOT make sense to let the truck carry 200+ kWh battery daily. I think CT battery extender is the right direction. You only need to carry extra battery when you need (to tow or travle).
This will simplify the production line and inventory, it can...
Because the truck frame and suspension can only carry let's say 9500lb (gross weight). If the truck itself with 200kWh battery weighs 8500lb, then it can only carry 1000lb. If you change the battery to 120kWh and weighs 1000lb less, then payload is 2000lb.
That's why F150 Lightning Pro SR can...
I don't feel it is a work truck, cabin is squeezed, small trunk, truck bed is not as open as. It is more like a family utility truck.
I am not surprised by the price and expect it would go down when Tesla can make enough trucks though. It will depend on production and demand.
I meant Silverado EV has only 1300lb payload.
Battery is battery, if you want more range, the truck has to carry more batteries. I feel GM and RAM are in the wrong direction to put 200kWh battery in a 8500lb truck with only 1300lb payload (or even less).
It would really depend on the drive mode and 80% of 90%.
MKBHD once show F150 lightning has 400+ miles but that is after driving inside a parking lot etc. Slow speed has more guess range.
F150 Lightning SR has 107.6 kWh, usable 98 kWh, 91%; ER has 143.4 kWh with 131 kWh usable, that is 91.35%.
Ford reserves more capacity which is actually good.
For 123kWh, assume 119kWh usable, if the range is 330 miles, then ideally it can do 2.7-2.8 miles per kWh.
If Lightning can do 2.44...
Sorry did not mean you made mistake or so. Acutally thank you for your hard work to compile all the information.
I checked again, Spec sheet says ER Curb Weight is actually 6361 lb, 6597lb is with 20 inch A/T Tire. 2023 Ford F-150® Lightning® Lariat Electric Truck | Model Details & Specs...
I assume Tesla moves the cabin forward to have more room for longer truck bed, 5.5' vs 6'. If they further sacrifice the legroom (from 86' to 79' front + rear), they could probably reach 6.5'.
