This is a 2024 thread … there are threads with latest update on containment hold of April-June 2026. Please review them and comment there as there are a lot of us affected users stuck in your situation right now.
I checked with my delivery team at the SC … I got this response … I’m again convincing myself to just forget fretting about it and let it come when it comes …
Same here … the CT is at the SC but the delivery window is not open in the app. I guess yours is also the case like mine that your truck arrived at the SC but before they could offer a delivery date it was put on hold.
I’m still of the opinion that there’s some glitch with your order. I read somewhere that one of the user had same issue and his SC delivery manager told him that the order didn’t go ahead earlier and re did it and a few days later the VIN was issued … recheck … it’s not normal for this much...
Congratulations … just for reference what was your VIN series 948xx ?
This is no doubt great news … it means something is being done and gradually CTs are being released … waiting for your update on the issue which entailed this delay.
If it is equipment then that specific defective piece can always be replaced as the new series are being built so shouldn’t be a parts shortage issue. The PAWD CT orders are really piling up as the delivery window for new orders has moved up to Sept-Oct now …
Yours is the unfortunate case where the truck hasn’t gone into production yet. You are seeing the delivery timeline now which is for the fresh orders placed today (Aug-Sept). Most of us have our trucks at the SCs, almost to be delivered and then held up at the last moment.
I’m certain of one thing and that is Tesla must be more worried and eager to deliver these trucks ASAP and get rid of the potential public fallout risk. Let’s hope for the best.
Good you brought this up, I was also of the same opinion that concerned users are disappointed and just waiting for some outcome. As far as your questions are concerned
1. Yes. That’s exactly what I’ve settled for.
2. No. Luckily I am not committed financially except the initial order fee.
