And now it’s Day 89.
Got excited late yesterday when I opened the app and got a message saying I needed to update the app in order to complete details of the delivery process. Surely this is what I’d been waiting all this time to see!
Updated the app, opened it and got the same old message...
… Still no VIN! This patience thing is hard, especially after a friend who configured one day before me (to be delivered to the same place in Lynnwood WA) got his VIN three days ago.
Oh well, tomorrow’s another day (do they even put out VINs on Sundays?).
Interesting car. Looks like it was made of space-age plywood. Gaps looked good. Poor little girl said she’d been waiting since she was 2 months old to get the VIN. Plans to drive it a couple months, then sell it to a five-year-old in the neighborhood who’s willing to pay 10 times his weekly...
Yes, there are worse clubs. Day 87 here, although a friend who configured one day earlier than me, with same delivery location in WA, got his VIN today. Keep the faith!
For those in WA looking for a sliver of hope, a friend who configured his dual motor FS on 12/26 got his VIN today. He will take delivery in Lynnwood WA. (Sorry, don’t have his res number)
This only means I’ll be refreshing the app a few thousand times the next several hours because mine was...
So many good / bad stories with Tesla. Our experience in 2013 was so different, our MS was actually delivered 2-3 months before we were originally told. Of course there were less than 6000 cars on the road back there. BTW is your Mustang the Mach 1 model?
Not a Mach 1, but a very original...
I’m definitely eager to get it. But whether it takes 86 days, 90, 100 or more, why can’t Tesla give us a clue when that will be? The lack of transparency is irritating. BTW, I’m not a VIP or “influencer.” But I am a retired writer by profession and have been asked by an automotive publication...
It is absolutely baffling to me that a company that builds a vehicle with next-level technology is not able to tell us where our particular order is in the process. All I hear is “They don’t tell us anything.” I don’t understand the secrecy.

I realize deliveries started in WA in the past few weeks. But there’s a huge Tesla presence in western WA and it’s frustrating to see buyers in CA getting VINs after configuring in February. And, frustrating that the only answer I hear when talking with a Tesla rep is...
That would be awesome, for a couple of reasons. First, my hands are tired opening the app every 30 seconds. Second, I’m a snowbird in AZ and had booked a flight to Seattle for this week because previously it was looking like 70 days was the sweet spot for some deliveries. I cancelled that flight...
