I see your point about the choice. Many people these days can't or do not want to put on a spare by themselves anyway, so for them it is likely a waste indeed.
As far as personal experience - I did get a number of flats over the years, not sure how many, but perhaps once every 2-5 years? Every...
I beg to differ. If I have a flat (which is the most likely thing to go wrong on the road by far) and I have a spare in the car - I know I will be on my way within 15 minutes, with roadside assistance - it's anybody's guess. Sometimes time is of the essense.
Curious - are there any feasible...
I have a few questions about spares, maybe people know some answers:
1. Tesla shows spare going in the bed. Is it too large for under-bed compartment?
2. $1250 for tire kit looks kinda steep, or maybe it is a fair price? Anyone priced a build your own alternative? What does that come to? Can...
I saw the post yesterday about second wave of invites showing up in the accounts. I went to check - lo and behold, I got one too! I wend into deliberation mode, wanted to go see it in the dealership before committing...
I wake up in the morning, go to check my account and... IT'S NOT THERE ANY...
Any data on when deliveries will actually start? Current production rate? When can we realistically expect config emails? I placed my order during the reveal, so must be in first couple of thousands. How did it work for previous Tesla launches?
I think that is less likely due to weight distribution... If I were designing it I would either make it a brick that into the front of the bed that makes the bed a little shorter OR make it relatively thin and flat and same dimensions as the bed, so when you put it on the bottom it just makes...
I personally think range extender makes a lot of sense, especially as a rental. You almost never need it and for that one time when you do (road trip?) I'd rather rent it from tesla for a few days
Finally had a chance to take a look at CT with my own eyes... Looks cool and all, but I am of two minds about all the plastic trim... It looks cheap to me. Is it just me? I wish it was anodized metal or something
During the reveal I made three reservations - one for each trim, because I was not sure which trim I would want in the end and weather I would be able to change it later. So does anybody know for sure if it matters what trim I put on the reservation (if it doesn't, why was that even there?)...
For me the bigger concern is that many people will decide that they *have to* find out for themselves whether or not the _glass_ is unbreakable or not since the idea was popularized during launch event...
