Yes indeed FWIW I think that is the best move. Per NEC 250.122 the minimum size grounding conductor you will need for a 60amp breaker is a #10 copper.
3/4" conduit is fine just dont make more than 360 degrees in bends.
Another point I would like you to consider is something called boxfill. If you are planning on making a splice at the inside outlet you need to be sure there is enough room for the splice. I would rather remove the inside outlet (if it’s not needed), pull new #6 THHN, and use that box as a pull...
I added the CT to my progressive policy that has my Model 3. It only added just over $400 more a year (for now). I also selected the highest deductible, and will not use it as a daily driver.
I was also looking into Hagerty. It appears that they might insure the CT.
Good luck
Sorry I need to add my 2 cents lol. We almost always want to install devices per the manufacturers installation instructions. The National Electrical Code (NEC) even has a section for this, NEC 110.3B.
You have taken into consideration the length of the run, so no need for a voltage drop...
Im glad you were able to make the 110v outlets work for a temporary outage :). Thats funny that you paralleled the outlets.
Are you planning to install a transfer switch or Main breaker interlock?
I would love to see your setup when you get it finished.
That is a great idea and an excellent price. Just keep in mind that you will need to do your own load shedding since this is essentially a manual transfer setup. What that means is that you will need to physically turn off breakers or devices to mange the load/s connected to your Cybertruck, and...
Man sometimes you guys are a rough crowd...
This issue about being stuck while charging has been discussed on and off for a while, and a couple of YouTuber's created a design challenge a few years ago. Yes I was one of the entrants.
My idea was mostly poo poo'd for many of the same reasons...
I haven't used Fischer Elec before, but I have inspected their work. I think they do good work, but they are a bigger company so sometimes the smaller jobs get pushed back.
I would definitely recommend getting 3 estimates from different Electrical Contractors before using anyone.
Good luck and...
Im happy to post to this thread. I too am a FSD Beta Tester and need to remind myself just how far Tesla has come.
I keep telling myself that the Cybertruck will definitely be worth the wait. Plus I have some cyberbeer just waiting to christen the truck lol.
Excellent post Coolbreez, and exactly what I needed to hear. Man that earnings call was a huge financial bummer for me but, your "put on the big boy pants" post is profound.
:)
