Munro sees how Cybertruck's Hard Freaking Stainless Steel Body Panels are Blanked, Bent, and Built @ Production Factory

I will say this, that video was pretty cool. Hopefully they allow tours in the next 2 years, when I can hopefully take the plunge and buy one. Assuming they're 40% cheaper. Thanks for posting, as I unsubscribed from Munro awhile ago.

Reservation holders must now pay nonrefundable $1,000 "Early Access Deposit" to convert reservation into an Order (new as of 12/12/23)

No offense here at all, but that's privilege. Over half of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. 42% have less than $1000 in a savings account and the national average is $4500. If you can afford this truck, you are rich. I've been saving since the announcement and I could make the $80k version...

Jason Camissa's Cybertruck Review Video & Podcast -- A MUST WATCH

Thanks for pointing me there. If that's the case, seems more than likely they could've had a 450+ range version without having the range extender. I'm still confused on the weight limit after reading that thread. All I got was $$$$$. Tesla put out an inferior product(range-wise) to maximize...

Tesla's Crafty Move? - Carbon Credits, The Extender, GVWR, and Payload

So after reading this whole thread, I still don't understand why it's that terrible to be rated as a class 3. How much do they lose if they actually made it that way? Obviously it's not a little, or they wouldn't do this. But it sounds like they wouldn't get the ZEV(or whatever they're called)...

I'm in 11275. If anyone wants to buy me out, I'd be happy to. Even sell you the one when my number gets called. I ain't paying $80-100k for a 350-mile truck

I want what you're smoking, ?. Just look at sales of new vehicles and price points. Conversation rate will be 20%, if they're extremely lucky. People on this forum live in a bubble. Price is all that matters and at $80k for the same range as a model 3 or Y, the truck is going to be hard to move...

Jason Camissa's Cybertruck Review Video & Podcast -- A MUST WATCH

Thanks for doing this! Hot damn that's so rage-inducing to look at . Do the batteries suck that bad? I get the price and having to do that, maximize profit/cost. What doesn't make sense is how do you not meet the range estimate without a stupid box in the bed? 4680's must be a huge fail...

I disagree. I think that's optimistic. It's price and it's range are inline with it's competitors, none of whom are selling 250k+ trucks a year. This is a Halo product for now. If you want mainstream, high production, you need costs to drop 40%. I just hope that's still their plan.

OFFICIAL 2024 Cybertruck Pricing, Specs, Mileage/Range, Dimensions, Weight, Info

It truly is. There are a couple of YouTubers who pointed out how terrible the 4680s are compared to the 2170s. I think they're still a few years away from getting that right. I have a feeling that if they had to do this over again, they'd just stick with the 2170s. I'm still completely confused...

I'd plan higher if that's where you're at in the queue. Half it again. :)

OFFICIAL 2024 Cybertruck Pricing, Specs, Mileage/Range, Dimensions, Weight, Info

That chart really shows you why it was priced the original way. You're absolutely right that they went this high to try trim customers. They wouldn't be able to meet demand at previous pricing, so keep it high and make more profit while you figure out production of the vehicle and the cell. I...

    I was wrong

If it had 500 mile range, I would buy it now at that price.

Jason Camissa's Cybertruck Review Video & Podcast -- A MUST WATCH

Not that disingenuous. It went from $70 to $100k, with less range. I guess they could have said there's a 40-50% price increase. I mean the top end got 40% price hike with a 40% cut in range. My percentages are simplified as I don't want to do math this early :D

Poll: What aspect of CT Are you Unhappy With

This speed is very telling of just how far off they are on the 4680's. They were supposed to be 350KW+, but this unveiling has me a bit worried. I always assumed Tesla was 6-7 years ahead of everyone in battery tech, but now I'm thinking they're not at all. With what the Cybertruck has shown, I...

OFFICIAL 2024 Cybertruck Pricing, Specs, Mileage/Range, Dimensions, Weight, Info

If they don't drop prices after 1 year, I'm willing to bet production craters to S/X levels. I wonder if that's not the plan already. I mean, they have the $25k model in the works and have decided to build it in Austin. If they use 4680's for that as well, they'll want to prioritize those cells...
