Stopping distance is going to be bad on stock tires in snow. It takes very little extra snow grip to earn the 3 peak rating, and the stock ATs don't even have that. True winter tires are on all whole different level. I don't understand knowingly accepting much longer stopping distance in winter...
If you can get a good deal on wheels, it is worth it. After that, tire costs will be the same because you use each set of tires half as much. Better to always have lots of tread on the winters if you are going in snow.
I took mine off after my brother told me they look funny when he was driving behind me because they stick out significantly compared to the tires. My range actually improved after removing them.
If you don't floor it all the time, you should get over 20k miles. At 6,000 miles I'm only down 1/32 in the front, and 3/32 in the rear. Ready for rotation.
I got the RTs for winter. I feel like they are a lot louder than stock, and they don't corner nearly as well because of the taller blocks that aren't connected as much. Range also seems a lot worse, but it is hard to know for sure because it also got colder. For the first 6200 miles I average...
I've rented the Pacifica Plug in hybrid/EV Minivan a couple of times. If I needed lots of space, and didn't need AWD, I would get that. The acceleration is much better than the pure ICE version.
Needing service is not common. Waiting for parts a little more so. The Rivians drive much worse than a CT and can be prone to lots of problems as well. You'll be fine.
Shoot. I was supposed to have had mine installed in Utah on the 30th, but was rescheduled 5 weeks out because they are "out of stock." If they hadn't been essentially free with the voucher, I would have gotten the wheels from somewhere else with Blizzak tires. I HATE loud tires.
I have a Foundation and love it. I want a CT for our vacation home that we only use a few weeks per year. I don't need FSD for it. I would replace the Y we have there, but will only do it with the tax credit.
Nice job Jacky. I would prefer the rear camera to be higher. Maybe mounted behind the rear glass just in front of the bed (on the plastic trim piece you remove for Cybertent).
I have an appointment for end of October for my wiper motor and winter wheels. I asked about the rear motor on the messages App. I'll see what they say.... Vin 7,0XX
My next door neighbor has a Raptor. He was blown away by how good the CT is when I let him drive it. He offered to let me test drive his Raptor, but said "you will hate it." I didn't bother.
