Why not cut around the green/black wires to expose them more to strip them ? You can carefully cut a semi-circle around those wires and after you restore them with press connectors fill in the space with silicone.
I don’t see the situation getting any better; with more cars being sold and limited expansion of SCs it is a crowded field. You might try other SCs in your area if that’s possible.
I have the JAMs SS tailgate cover. It’s 550$ plus shipping. I wonder how thick Lucky’s product is. JAMS SS thickness matches the existing CT panels. Luckys appears to be half the price I notice.
That’s why future applications are using a better primer/adhesive. But the insertion of closing the gaps with molding sounds like a good idea. Do you have a pic of the molding you are using?
