Right, but you can’t just roll up and plug in. So unless your overland adventure is actually a tour of rv parks it’s not exactly convenient. I know reading comprehension is hard but this debate was started by folks saying they could use their CT to replicate my trips to the places in the...
I look forward to you trying to poach 110 outlets across rural Utah to trickle charge your CT on this adventure. Hopefully you have a goal zero kit to solar charge as well as that would be an enthralling video to watch.
Destination chargers and Superchargers are not the same. If you’re ok with having to reserve a room or campsite and pay the associated fees vs enjoying the limitless free camping on public land then yes, there are options.
All tires have a speed rating because at some point / speed / duration the heat build up will destroy the structural integrity of the tire carcass leading to catastrophic failure. OEM’s must govern top speed to fall in line with the speed rating for the tire they fit to the vehicle.
Closest SC to the town of Escalante is 130 miles or so. You'll be lucky to get there and back to a SC much less venturing out for any adventure. Math is still hard.
Agreed. Should also make for great business for the off-road recovery / towing companies pulling neophyte CT owners out of remote areas when they run out of electrons.
Added some pics for ya.
Trouble with the CT is that it's already so range challenged for remote travel that anything you hang off it is just exacerbating the deficiency. It's not the right platform for that. Anyone that builds out a CT with the overland attire is posing in the worst way...
I hear ya...it was pretty intense to take a brand new PW and start cutting the fenders off to do the AEV conversion. Have my spare in the bed but space isn't an issue. American Adventure Lab did a custom rear seat delete platform setup with a totally separate Lithium / solar power supply and a...
I've been driving those San Juan roads since the early 90's and taking that Power Wagon up there was a one and done experience as far as the Telluride to the top of Imogene section for sure. Just too big of a rig given the complete hacks with no sense of etiquette that you have to deal with in...
The first is coming down off Imogene Pass headed towards Camp Bird having come up from Telluride. A CT could probably get there range wise but not sure it'd be so happy driving wise if the driver wasn't fairly experienced and conformable with very serious consequence narrow shelf roads. The...
