Yeah, I saw that. It just says you can play if from the glovebox. Doesn't say *only* the glovebox. If you follow the "Playing Media from Devices" link, you can see what I shared where is says you can use the one in the center console, too.

Where does it say that? I found one section where it said the glovebox did but it did not say it was the only one. In the media section, it clearly states the one in the front of the center console can be used for that.

Owners manual says the ports in the back are for power only but the one in the front of the center console can be used for media as well as the one in the glovebox. Doesn't work in my truck and the rep at the local Tesla service center says the one inside is also only for power. If he is right...

Yeah, I really like this design as well. Am really hoping that they will offer an "over the cab" variant to support long stock.

It's not really a left-right thing. More a have-have not thing. I get more harassment from far right folks in big trucks blowing coal with American flags flying in their beds than the centrists where I live (but that is mostly because they are the majority here).

Seems unlikely it would. If they allowed it it would likely require recalibrating the cameras but I suspect it is automatically disabled if the tailgate is down.

I use the "base/plate" (Several short 2x6's in the bay along side the jack). They also provide a nice, larger footprint if you are in mud/sand/etc. and can also be handy to get more traction if stuck.
