He didn't say it was never coming to vehicles, he just said it would be a while:
“At some point, I think it will make sense for us to switch to AI5 in the car, but there’s not a pressing issue to do so. At some point the AI4 hardware is going to get so old that it’s like, okay, the only reason...
I don't have a lot of faith in the AI scheduler. When I ordered on Feb 25th @ 5:30p, with a Tesla sales agent on the phone, he stated Sept-Oct 2026, which was also on the web site when I ordered.
Now all I get is "2027". Hope it's not 2027 but the silver lining is PCS may be solved by then. :p...
I'd say the person that traded this in is laughing all the way to the bank!
If you look at the specs, they have this tagged as an AWD model. With under 1k miles, that would be a fair price if it was really a AWD spec. Their used car manager who appraised this one will be looking for a new job...
Same happened to me the other day. In my M3P (HW4) with 14.2.2.5, a plastic grocery bag was blowing across the road, a few inches off the surface (R>L) and my M3 braked pretty damn hard. I had to hit the throttle to override. Glad no one was on my ass or I may have been hit. I don't recall...
Great picture, and the sunrise one is good also. :)
Big fan of standard poodles. Had our first white one for only 8 years and then lost him to cancer, best dog we've ever had. Got our 2nd in 2019 and he's a different animal (pun intended). The first was brilliant and loyal. The second...
Matt, I wouldn't say all 3 of those are unconfirmed. My take from pouring over the owners manual, Tesla online specs (pitiful), those YouTube videos and more:
1) I wouldn't expect off-road modes to change unless it was specifically tied to the air suspension, i.e extract mode, etc. Time will...
Congrats Robert! Can't wait for my delivery but I don't expect the Richmond VA center to be anything to write home about. Hopefully they've gotten better over the past 2 years.
<Edit> Removed question since this post was from '24. That's what I get for looking at the "Similar threads"...
RIght there with you Threader. My first car was a base '80 Rabbit diesel as a hand me down. Cheapest, slowest, loudest car you could get. At 24, what I had was not a whole lot better.
Congrats to Bob on your success. I'm looking forward to my fire-sale AWD CT also.
Yep and based on the Google Street View of the park, she ripped the sign off the side of one of the buildings. Looks very similar to the one here. People are bat crap crazy.
Thanks but a CT for $60k was too hard to pass up. Most likely when the HW5 version of the Model Y hits in 2027/28, that will be the wife's new ride and I'll get my M3P back.
I guess I fall into your "anyone" group but your simple math is much different than mine. Out of the 19 cars I've owned (not including the '23 M3 RWD and '24 M3P) my average length of ownership is 7y 10m with a median of 8y 5m. So, when I purchased FSD outright it was for 2 reasons... 1) I...
When I first drove it off the lot on the demo, while it didn't drive like a "tank", it felt like a "tank". Solid, quiet, almost vault like. Couple that with FSD, I can see where you're coming from. We'll be selling our '23 M3 RWD (wife's) and she'll take my '24 M3P. I'll be transferring FSD...
That's what the Tesla rep told me also on the phone on the 25th when I ordered mine. As long as you had an order in before 3/31 you would have the option to submit the FSD transfer from the app when you accept delivery of the CT.
Just got back from a demo of a AWD premium model. One thing's for sure, it doesn't drive like it looks! With the "squircle" steering wheel, steer by wire, and the 4 wheel steering, it drives like a much smaller vehicle. A few other driving observations and thoughts on the base vs premium:

Didn't realize Tesla offered tint along with wraps. Since you live in Florida I would say you probably have many more qualified installers than we have in Virginia. I'd go with a speacialist rather than having Tesla farm it out, that way you may have more choice in tint %, type (ceramic, etc.)
