While we can appreciate the excitement, let's keep this thread on topic to just SAWD deliveries. We all know the PAWD deliveries happen faster than the SAWD models.
Thanks for the comparisons. I've been with Tesla insurance since we bought our first M3 in Oct 2023. We have 2 M3s, my 2017 F150 4WD, and my 21 year old son's 2017 VW Golf. 3 drivers, 4 cars and it's been averaging around $540/month.
Tesla was the cheapest for me in 2023 but once I get a VIN...
I hope Gemini is right. If that's the case maybe I'll get lumped in with your production run since we're on the East coast.
Curious, did you get any options, such as wheels or armor?
Don't you dare fold TarheelCT!
You're now the pioneer in this little Tesla experiment and we want a full review less than 24 hours after you take delivery! Also, since you'll get yours 4-6 months before I get mine, I expect an invite to drive a few hours south to see yours in person. I'll bring...
I originally misread the title of your post as "An encouter with a firearm".
To be honest, that may be been less painful and scary than a egotistically fireman with an EV hater complex.
Tesla already had a method to provide feedback with the microphone, been using it for years to provide meaningful feedback when it was necessary. End of story.
This new "requirement" is just annoying. The majority of the time I disengage because it's convienent (like pulling into my garage)...
TarheelCT must have been one of the first to order. I didn't pull the trigger until Feb 25th (with a Sep-Oct original estimate), and as of this morning the AI bot is still undecisive for my order....
I'm now living vicariously through TarheelCT. :)
This is one of the few areas where traditional US automakers (Ford & GM) have Tesla beat. When ordering a new truck, Ford doesn't put you at the back of the line when you order a XLT vs a Platinum F150.
Of course, did you read mine?
Did you, or did you not say: "Apparently the recall is accurate and the wheels are susceptible to fracture if driven hard. "
That's not how I interpreted the recall. The wheels are not the problem, it's the brake rotors:
"The Problem: Brake rotor stud holes may crack, allowing wheel studs to separate from the hub.
... a free replacement of the rear brake rotors, hubs, and lug nuts."
Unlimited Grok would be a nice perk for premium connectivity. They took away Tesla (Slacker) streaming music service a few years ago. Then again they did add Sentry Mode live view.
No mention of any limit on Tesla's Grok support page:
https://www.tesla.com/support/grok#what-is-grok
Though the standard legal disclaimer exists:
"Grok availability and account requirements are subject to change at any time."
Darick, you answered the question I've wondered but never asked, how much Grok do I get in the car? Curious if you pay for premium connectivity or are you using another source for Wifi?
