Great writeup. I only have 1700 miles on my truck but can attest to all the things you mentioned. Death Valley, Sequoia, Borrego, all great rides with tons of attention. Quick charging at superchargers too. At home, the biggest surprise was ot being able to charge from 20 to 80% in six hours...
Parked my CT at the airport for five days (In the 50s mostly) - no Sentry mode. Lost 4% in five days. It seems it loses more while connecting to Wifi at home, or while plugged in, or if your phone frequently connects.
I had the same concerns. I need a 220-mile range round trip. On my latest five-day trip - I turned off Sentry mode - parked in a garage with no plug-in - lost 4% in five days. Not bad at all.
I have the same issues. Gates (HOA owned) can't be programmed, but the garage door opener works with the paid MyQ subscription. Would love to find a solution for both (aka Homelink like.)
This is not a money issue for me as much as a big FU from MyQ. I have several Chamberlain openers but will never buy one again after they locked out all third party (unpaid) integration.
Sure, I can use the silly app, or ugly clunky remote clicker, but why when there are way better options...
I bought silver ones and spray painted them satin black finish. Also had lug caps left over from a previous Tesla and painted them with the same black paint.
Thanks for that experiment. I wonder why. I see the same type of drain. Charge to 80% at midnight and wake up to 77%. Work has me park the car at the airport with no chargers for four days at a time. It would be bad if it lost 20-30% with no sentry mode, etc.
I'm in the same boat of having my CT parked for 4-5 days at the time at an airport garage with no charging. Is the drain +-1% per day with Sentry mode OFF? I am not concerned with vandalism as much as having enough juice to make it home without charging.
