  1. Cybertruck (Orders) Demand Would Take 3-4 Years Production to Fulfill Says Musk

But he said "make...demand," right? If this quote is accurate: "We don't comment on those detailed numbers, except the demand is just far more than we could reasonably make in the space of, I don't know, three or four years, something like that." I read that as "400,000-500,000 is far more...
  2. Secret CybrTrk reservation holder

I've never seen an actual Texan who would mock a Tundra. Especially since they are made in San Antonio. Maybe I've been lucky or something but the only time I've had a foreign car (rental) mocked was in Illinois (strong union place at a refinery). My Tundra (4.7L) kind of sucked though but to...
  3. Post your Cybertruck preorder reservation number!

Exactly who is "Tesla?" Exactly what is "first come first serve?" Do we get to line up like we are buying the iPhone 12? I'm skeptical of your post. Please expound.
  4. New feature ideas

Thanks for taking the time to provide all that information--very useful. My data isn't all that entertaining or interesting (my overall thought on Google and others that get my data). So what is the monthly cost for Premium Connectivity, transfer of all this data (through cell service?, our...
  5. Should Tesla Even Bother Making The Lower Priced Cybertruck Models

You just described F250, F350 and the Platinum, King Ranch, Lariat, XLT, and XL packages (in 3 cab configurations). Add gimmicky stuff and charge more. The trucks have the same (or stretched) metal and different electronics/plastics/leathers. The F350 has different springs/spacers. They even...
  6. Rumor: There will be no single motor Cybertruck! RWD model will be dual motor.

I imagine the mechanics and electrics (while maintaining a frunk and skateboard design and needing a differential) is complicated. Everything has to be flat or in the wheel wells. The wheels have to turn at different speeds when turning. The car has to be balanced. I can see why 1 motor per...
  7. Tone down the accolades

Agreed. Hopefully the "news media" (and social media and YouTube) will pick up incidents of idiots testing the trucks and getting caught.. The best marketing ever for Tesla is a YouTube video of fools getting caught (so Tesla should stage it). Sentry has a limited view point though--It would...
  8. Why the Cybertruck is worth (at least) $178,778.28

He should have made this video in clown attire/makeup. I liked his other video. You can't tack on an a 81K vette for the acceleration. The Super Duty gets closer to 13 MPG (I'm told). Lariat is fancier trim package. $10K+ for generator, ramp, and compressor? Are repair costs to the...
  9. Should Tesla Even Bother Making The Lower Priced Cybertruck Models

Agreed. The core components have to be the same for economies of scale, right? I can't imagine two sets of [fill in the blank part for light duty and heavy duty]. Why does a $40K truck need to be heavy duty enough to haul 14,000+ pounds? If you have ever owned and worked on a 2nd generation...
  10. Parking space neurosis

The CT has auto-summon. It will probably have auto-park by then. Elon Musk should call it Edge-Park.
  11. Satirical food

That video actually had an impact on me and made me question my choice. I had not thought about the part about Lithium batteries.
  12. If the CT is built in Texas would it not make logical sense to fill orders closest to the assembly plant?

Cool. I live near Austin. I hope he puts the Giga Factory between Austin and San Antonio. I could ride an electric bike to pick it up.
  13. If the CT is built in Texas would it not make logical sense to fill orders closest to the assembly plant?

I shouldn't be regionally bumped unless Tesla tells a person ahead of me their truck is ready and that person says (somehow), "sorry, it's too far away--hold it for me."
  14. Secret CybrTrk reservation holder

The lady at the bank knows. (I'm setting up a special account). My mom knows. My "friends" know. I'd say everyone knows. They know I put a $100 refundable deposit on a truck that won't be made for at least 2 years. I can't wait. But somewhere in the back of my mind there is doubt. I...
  15. If the CT is built in Texas would it not make logical sense to fill orders closest to the assembly plant?

OP's question obviously is meant as a "joke"; however, (as a Texan) I hope they fill one truck per person initially. I want to get my one 3M truck before another person gets a 2M *and* a 3M truck. I think my 70K place in line might become 120K in line otherwise.
  16. Anyone thinking of changing to a different Tesla model?

    Having had a 1970 F250 (camper special) (and 1971 F250 camper special, 1977 F150, 1992 F150, 1995 F150, 2002 F250, 2003 F250, 1998 E350, 2008 D2500, 1999 D250), I'm hoping the Tri-Motor cyber truck I have on order is more refined and efficient than the 360 or 390 CID engines in my Camper...
  17. Cybertruck trimotor has lowest cost per mile of range among all Teslas

I upgraded from single motor to dual motor to tri-motor. I never considered range anxiety. I made the decision while hauling 14K of loads all last week and watching my EGTs hovering around 1200F in the Texas Hill Country, thinking my turbo was melting, etc. I spent almost $200 on fuel last...
  18. Musk teases Giga Texas factory - for Cybertruck production?

I think San Marcos is the best place. Or Buda. Or Kyle. Draw from Austin and San Antonio. Close to F1 track or 130 tollroad. Maybe Lockhart. Giga Buda has a ring to it.
