The model Y tow package that Crissa linked to uses a 7 pin connector which would include the typically blue wire used to control trailer brakes so you can rest assured the CT will work great with your trailer brakes.
Iām not familiar with RVs. Do you mean a typical brake controller like used to pull trailers or a brake Controller used to tow the CT behind an RV? Iām sure it will have a typical controller for pull behind trailers.
This is not that complicated. The answer is because the stopped vehicles can not be seen visually. Canāt be seen by me, canāt be seen by you, cant be seen by the occupants, canāt be seen by any of the Teslaās video cameras, there are no visual clues for any cameras to pick up on. There is no...
Yes Sir I will concede that it is an assumption but it is an assumption derived from only a few possibilities that in the end only leave one plausible explanation. Itās ironic that so many here are rallying around the video only Teslavision and proclaiming how much better video is than radar but...
The video posted earlier in this thread is why I want radar. Some here would lead you to believe the radar had nothing to do with the car stopping but they are wrong. It was radar, and radar only, that told the car to brake. Cameras had zero to do with the car braking in that particular situation.
Your comparison isnāt valid as I never mentioned FSD. I did not order FSD because I do not want it at this time. I would rather have radar than FSD for the extra 10k.
Thanks for the link and I will certainly watch it sometime in the morning but gotta get kids down and call it a night. Lastly though, I would be plenty happy with radar that is not fused with the rest of the system. Just give me an audible tone when there is a traffic pile or dump truck ahead...
In this video you can plainly see the hood of the car nosedive from automatic braking before the driver was ever aware of the stopped traffic ahead. Not only was the driver unaware, neither were the Teslaās cameras!
Thank you for the video! This is almost exactly the situation I had imagined. It would be absolutely impossible for a camera only system to have detected and stopped. Absolutely impossible.
That would not be ideal. Is that currently an issue with the Teslas? Iām genuinely asking because I havenāt owned a Tesla yet. My current truck is equipped with radar but I havenāt had that issue so far.
I believe you are correct. Predicting traffic speed 2-3 cars ahead was one of my original examples of the value of radar. Traffic is standing still in the distance and the car in front of you is playing candy crush on his phone and rear ends the traffic at full speed. Your Tesla with RADAR is...
