So, yesterday (6 June), just for grins, I went to my local Tesla Service Center here in Reno (home of the battery Giga Factory). It is just down the row of stores from my blueprint shop. I approached the salesman and, as a joke, I said "Where is my Cybertruck?". He says "What is your phone...
I have a CanAm 570 XT. At 76, I am not into wild rides, but the 570 has just the right balance of power and features to do what I want. Sure, a SxS with AC would be more comfortable, but it won't fit in the tight canyons I put the 570 through. Here, in Reno, Nevada, the east side of the valley...
Until I see a change in the Cybertruck page on the Tesla website, I am not getting excited. Still cannot build a Cybertruck to get pricing with it how YOU want it!
Yes, CR rates Cadillacs for octogenarians, but most of their ratings are for normal folks. Again, you guys missed the point of my post - humor! When they finally ship, I guarantee the price will NOT be anywhere near the CR estimate from Elon's years ago rants. I would guess, at least $20K...
Actually, I thought CR was a promoter of Tesla? I suppose you guys are antagonistic toward CR because they report the truth about Tesla. That means CR notices the warts. Perhaps you never want to hear a discouraging word about YOUR vehicle company, even if it is true? When you look at CR...
I did not reserve a Cybertruck because I would get it instantly. I knew Elon would drop the ball. I want a Cybertruck because it does NOT look like all the other pickups. Even the Rivan looks the same as pickup have for 70 years. You would think other manufactures would take advantage of the...
I hope, if there is a rear screen, it is an option YOU can pay for. I have a rear entertainment center in my 2010 Silverado and have used it once. My truck was built during the GM bankruptcy and, to get navigation, I had to order a package that included the rear entertainment center. Most of the...
Ah ... Modern vehicles! Buttons on the steering wheel are now common. You want to flip the high beams on my '62 Vette? Button on the floor! By 1967 (my Porsche 912) the high beam was on the stalk. My 2010 Silverado (hope it lasts until CT shows up) is also on the stalk. But I do not think I will...
I sure hope you are right! But, the most recent post of the interior I saw had a rectangular steering device, not a yoke, with no buttons. We have the first Giga Factory (batteries) here in Reno. I have seen a Cybertruck leaving the Tesla showroom near my home once. I did not get to photograph...
Stalks & buttons. A previous poster noticed there are none on the CT prototypes. I agree with several other posters: for safety and convenience, stalks and yoke buttons are a necessity. On my Chevy Silverado, I can set and manipulate the cruise control, answer the phone, control the volume and...
Doesn't Porsche use drive by wire in the current lineup? With no fail safe mechanical? I seem to remember a lot of chatter about this when Porsche brought it out, but nothing new lately.
I personally know of one person who had their thumbs dislocated. I took a safe driving class and the instructor had lots of data proving air bags can jamb thumbs. I like my thumbs; so no more 2 and 10! (How did I get 6 and 9? Brain fart ...)
I would not agree with that. Try ordering a Tesla without a sunroof. Apparently you have not tried to order a new vehicle at a dealership lately. Try ordering a Tahoe without the third row seats.
Hey! We NEVER get snow here in Reno, Nevada! :) Haven't seen the grass in the yard in two months, this year. Was 4 degrees this morning. Not going to melt today. This is why I have a 4WD pickup. Had to drive Daughter to work this morning at 0500 because the FWD Prius doesn't do so well.
I'll agree. In all the CT interior photos, I notice the yoke is barren - no buttons, no stalks. I guess Elon thinks we like punching touch screens or talking to voice assistants? I have considerable experience with voice assistants. Alexa and Cortana do a pretty good job of understanding me. But...
If you grab the yoke with one hand you can spin it just as fast as a wheel. Maybe faster. I know, when I have to make a sharp turn in my current PU, I grab the cross-member, not the external wheel.
