The RST is not out yet and could not be tested. The 450 mile range is the 4WT and the lower range is the 3WT. The 4WT has a slightly bigger battery. Click on the specs tab.
The 4WT (Chevy just changed the model name from WT4) has been available since May 2023. I actually saw a white one here in Reno right after Christmas. It was going north and I was going south; so no pictures. My dealer will have two in mid-February. He actually has the charging stations already...
So, when is Tesla going to get around to doing its 2024 EPA mileage tests? No Tesla vehicles listed for 2024. CT is 2024 model. Others have done it. Here is Chevy's:
I believe the top one is the WT1 and the bottom one is the WT4, although it is hard to tell from the EPA description.
Everybody SHOULD know bird droppings will damage auto exteriors if not removed promptly. When my number comes up in 2025 (I hope), I plan to pay for the clear coat. High end stainless appliances and plumbing fixtures have a coating. Otherwise, things like water spots appear. With the coatings...
Among other things Mary has done, GM sopped taking reservations for the eSilverado. Like Tesla, you used to be able to put $100 down and be on a reservation list. Not anymore. Perhaps the list got so long Mary ("EV's are not in demand") was embarrassed? I am guessing my RST reservation will come...
Chevy has "promised" up to 20,000 towing capacity. Tesla, 14,000. You are not going to get to those numbers with two or three motors. With four motors, you have one for each wheel. With three motors, one axle has to share a motor.
Wikipedia has articles on the WT, Lightning and CT. The articles on the CT and Lightning appear to have been updated within the last several months. The WT article appears to date from 2022.
What I needed was a one ton, not the 3/4 I bought, which strains, but gets the job done, eventually. Will the CT be able to pull an overload with a reduction in performance, like my Silverado or will it shut down? As I have demonstrated, you can overload ICE's and they still function. Will EV's...
Why does everybody in the EV business have a problem with the truth? Tesla has a problem with real range estimates, GM lies about demand. The pickup segment is ideally suited for EV's. On the job site, having an EV PU to charge portable tool batteries instead of having to lug a generator around...
GM's EV aspirations got torpedoed by the strike. GM burned up all the cash it was going to use to build a new EV plant. So, now Mary is saying there is little demand for EV's; but the WT4 is back ordered by at least 6 months. My local dealer has had 20 WT4's on order since May. His latest update...
I am not in your category. I did not order the dual motor. I don't even have an idea of the promised range of that category. I ordered the longest range and best towing I could. My order indicates quad motor long range. It is hanging on the wall next to the Hot Wheels RC and the paper construct...
I currently have a Silverado K2500 crew cab. When the guy at the pit drops a bucket load into my 16 ft. PJ trailer, it weights 16,000 lbs. The trailer weights 4,800 lbs. So, I am towing 20,800 lbs. The Chevy handles it, but it is straining. Lucky for me it is a short run to my property. I did...
The EPA is one of the outfits I can trust for unbiased results. So, I go to fueleconomy.gov and try to compare. Tesla has no 2024 vehicles listed (The CT is a 2024 model). However, we can compare the eSilverado, the Lightning and the Rivian RT1. Lots of, for me, useless information, like MPGe...
So, my "situation" is I need a pickup, not some good looking road queen. I need it to be able to tow trailers and carry a heavy load. Think contractor. Four years ago, Elon said 14,000 lbs. towing and 500 miles of range. Now, we finally have the real product, a ton and a half less towing and 240...
So, I have a 2010 K2500 Silverado Crew Cab. I just went out and measured from the front bumper to the rear bumper. 240 inches exactly, if the trailer hitch is removed. The Ford web site says the 6.5 ft. F150 crew cab is 243.5 inches. A 20 ft. garage is 20 feet between the walls. BUT, the garage...
Yes, a lot of people cannot fit their pickups in their BMW garages and have to park them outside. The question is: is CT a truck or a sedan? In its current iteration, I am going to go with CT being closer to a sedan than a F250. The eSilverado, however, is comparable to a F150 (but not a F250)...
As I said, Tesla over estimates, Chevy under estimates.
I believe the C&D and Electrek reviews were from early last summer. Other reviews are newer and feature real wold driving. JD Powers has one from December 8, but they did not test the range.
It IS "A Model T with an electric motor". Unlike Chevy, Rivian and Tesla, Ford just bolted electrics onto its existing F-150 frame, using Chinese components.
