If you compare the Ford to the Chevy, it is no contest. Chevy by a mile. C&D, R&T, and many more have done side-by-sides and the WT4 creams the Ford. More range, more room, etc. The Ford is a conversion of the existing F-150, the Chevy is a new EV from the ground up. GM makes its own batteries...
I thought about getting an X while waiting for my CT. But, I cannot get the plaid because it has 3 rows of seats. Beowulf is 26 inches tall and only 10 months old. With the 3rd row seat, not enough headroom. The plain X has removal floor boards in the rear and more than enough room for Beowulf...
I have a Chevy Fleet account and could get a WT4. It is a stripped model, but has real, tested, 450 mile range. But $80K is about what the CT is supposed to cost. I hope Tesla brings out a new web page for CT on 11/30, too.
Nice compiling of history. After reading this, my February 2025 "delivery date" does not look too firm. Also, factoring in the "huge" (Giga?) 30 November "delivery" event for only 10 units? I expected at least 100. If, after a month or so of running the line, they only have 10 units does not...
And the winner is Chevy: https://tfltruck.com/2023/10/exclusive-chevy-silverado-vs-ford-f-150-these-ev-pickups-cost-the-same-but-which-one-is-better-on-the-ike-gauntlet/
Where is CT? MIA!
AYKM? All this noise for only 10 units? I expected at least 100 on the 30th. This does not bode well for ever getting a CT. The strike cost GM their new EV plant, but it appears GM will ship more WT4's than Tesla will CT's this year.
Actually, Tesla did offer a Quad for a brief time two years ago. Then they changed the reservation page to "they will contact you about your order to determine the configuration". It has been that way ever since. Just to be sure, I went to my Tesla Service Center and had them look up my...
Tesla can only build one variant at a time. They will start with the higher end variants because they have a greater profit margin. They will probably not build dual motor variants until two or three years out. Single motors will be a very long wait. When I changed my Tri to a Quad, I got a new...
So, Crissa, which variant did you order? We are over that no such thing as Quad dispute, right? Some where I saw a listing of all the orders. The Quad was the very lowest. Dual was first. I believe single was next and Tri was right behind. I cannot find that list, but maybe you know where it is...
My contention is that RN is not the sole determinator of your delivery date. Tesla will build the more profitable models, first. So, you may have a much lower RN, but, because I reserved the highest end Quad model, I might get mine well before you, particularly if you ordered the single motor...
I originally ordered the Tri and had a RN about 580,000. When the Quad was announced, I went to my account and changed Tri to Quad. That reset my RN to 1,500,000 or so. However, as I stated, RN is not the absolute determination for when you will actually get your CT. I don't think they will...
If you think towing a trailer with an ICE does not hit the gas mileage, I have a bridge in San Francisco I want to sell you. My Silverado gets 13 mpg with no trailer. Hook up my 4800# PJ and the mileage drops to 9.
So, I look at the spreadsheet statistics and I see the most reservations are for the dual motor variant. Tri motor is second with very few Quad orders. I ordered the Quad. When I check my expected delivery date, my place in line drops 80%. Therefore, I think your actual place in line has to do...
On the "invoice" I saw posted here, there was an option for a midgate. For Tesla with CT, I think RC's are units they build to get the kinks out of the assembly line. For instance, some of the early RC's have fit and finish problems that are not in the newer ones.
At this point, I agree with...
Have had real pickups for 40 years. Even had a diesel. Now have 2010 Silverado, my last gasser, assuming Elon or Chevy makes EV PU available before my 2010 dies. The Rivian is not a real PU because it is too small. Tacomas and Canyons are not real, either.
