I think to better contribute more data Tesla should resume giving free trial FSDs again to CTs. To those subscribing, this would be awesome, to those who bought it, maybe some shop credit.
Nothing is sticking out where the glass roof meets cause you have that āchannelā / gap where the seal will fit in. If you do decide to seal the ends though you will have seal sticking out cause the ends do not have that channel. You can see in the pic where I ended the additional seal. Maybe one...
Just up the glass but a little extra. The sides are tight that you canāt get additional seal in (you can see it just by looking on top even without the applique removed how the OEM seals are compressed on the sides-you can always try though) plus any water gets there drips in between the walls...
So finally got tired of getting in and out of the truck to keep checking the front and rear clearance in my garage. Tried the laser thing, tennis ball from the ceiling in the middle of the garage is an eye sore, parking stoppers have to be bolted to the floor which I didnāt want to do but what I...
It will be a tight squeeze but itās actually what you want. If you look at my previous pics, the biggest gap is about 3/8ā and the oem seal is only a 1/4ā.
No thatās the OEM seal that they have. I was just showing the difference in size and the reason why water is getting through. The water you see is prior to me taking it apart, testing the oem seal first.
Attached is the additional seal I used. I cut one side, sandwiched the OEM seal and slid it...
I guess itās a hit or miss, thatās the exact same parts they replaced on mine and yet water intrusion from the top applique was still an issue so just had to fix it myself. Though everyone is right, Tesla should fix it. Itās not even a big fix, the rubber seal, which slides in the channel of...
No, this was the aftermath of them fixing the gap of the tonneau cover. As for the water leak from the applique from the top between the glass roof, not sure if anyone has gotten a new one or if that actually fixed the leak. As I mentioned in my post before, the issue is the seal used is not...
So first time driving the highway after getting my tonneau fixed and sure enough I got that issue you mentioned. Got a service scheduled and looking at the parts in the ticket, I deduced that they will be performing the retrofit for the whole Bed Sail Applique which I didnāt know there was one...
I would get that done. Thatās supposed to be like a gutter and imagine a gutter with no screen, eventually it can fill up with debris and the water management holes with dirt.
Make sure to point out the blue āNoteā under the Procedure on the Bulletin. Thatās what I did. Not sure if it helped but it doesnāt hurt to do so.
I showed the technician the repair bulletin posted somewhere in this thread. I only had to request a service once by doing that, though the wait for parts was long. I did have the water leak issue but that wasnāt due to the tonneau water management under the slat. Thatās due to the gap under the...
After 5-1/2 mos. of wait for parts, my SC finally got āem and replaced the slat. Good work too, can hardly tell they did work on the cover. Before and after pics attached.
