I used to be incapable of enjoying my cars unless they were perfect.
But, my CT may never get a bath its entire life (I mean, I'll detail the wheels and tires - I'm not totally crazy :)). I Can't wait to watch the patina grow and change. I kinda like that no amount of rubbing, scrubbing, or...
Received my VIN today. The SC says my AWD CT will be available for delivery in 4-5 business days.
I'd like to start a list of items I should be inspecting prior to taking delivery. I'm not going to get overly wound up about imperfect panel gaps (remember when that was our main concern?), but...
1) The first 5 digits of your RN# 11277
2) The date you configured your truck: 12/21/2023
3) The date you received your VIN assignment: 4/29/2024
4) The number range of your VIN: 0088**
5) The Date you will take delivery: 4-5 days is what the CB, IA service center is saying
6) Nebraska
Crazy: Set up a fake service appt with the Council Bluffs, IA service center and put in the notes I wanted to switch to KC delivery. They texted back and handled it for me. Had a VIN in 20 minutes.
Here we go.
OK, I'l admit it: I want the fog machine, music, and cheap red carpet runner. I want all the Tesla folk to clap and maybe sing "Happy Cybertruck to You" or something like that right before I blow out the LED lights.
But that's just me :)
I was really excited about the sound system from some early reviews. Now I've heard a couple times that iut is just OK. Did they maybe dial back the speaker/amplifier quality after the first few VINs or something?
And, actually, I would have respected them just calling it the Marketing BS Series instead. Or maybe the Cyber-suckers Edition. Still would have ordered and driven with pride :)
No spreadsheet can justify buying the CT Foundation Series (or ANY new car, for that matter).
The closest I will come to any real justification will be the 10-yer-old kid next to me at a stop light with his wide-eyed face plastered against the window. :)
It's awesome that you guys are creating all these options so fast. For anyone who likes to customize their vehicles and make them unique, choosing the right wheels and tires is one of the most difficult things to accomplish. But it also has one of the biggest impacts on a vehicle's looks and...
I'd actually probably rather pick it up in KC. Seems like that would be a better experience - but maybe CBs will step up and make it as cool as the other delivery events I've seen. Mine's an AWD, so will likely get it before you get your Beast. I'll let you know when I do and you can come see it...
Omaha also. RN 11277, order date 12/21. If I'm the first in Omaha with one, i'm taking two week's vacation just to drive it all over town and freak people out. The simplest trip to the store or out to dinner is gonna turn into a spectacle :) ha ha.
Is your delivery location Council Bluffs, IA too?
Very cool look!
I've always loved the look of steelies on most any vehicle, but the weight penalty of steel vs. aluminum keeps me away. Some aftermarket hot rod wheel companies manufacture aluminum "steelies". Then one can get that utilitarian look plus the performance of a lightweight wheel...
