Hummers are available on dealer lots at this time, 3 sitting there a mile away from my house. Both the truck and the suv too, I just wish they weren’t so awful looking. Slightly cool sometimes, but mostly gaudy. Like, why ship this thing with 22” wheels ? and it’s just so over styled. I love the...
Yeah but with all the “just drive 55mph and your cybertruck will get the epa rated 300 mile range”, you’re getting over 400 miles on a charge with the hummer.

Yeah, I foresee ev towing being phev’s for the foreseeable future. For sure expect that heavy duty towing diesel trucks to have a medium sized battery like the cybertruck, and a smaller efficient ice engine as well for those long haul trips. Even if the ice doesn’t put out enough power to...
Oh I dunno, the several years following the reveal when at ANY time they could have revised the numbers.
I hope they actually release the range extender, and maybe have an option for an even larger one. 60-70kw would still fit in the bed and give slightly more than half the bed capacity still...
Also, exceeding the load limits of the tires, especially if under max inflation pressure, can cause sidewall bulge and tire overheating, leading to blowout.
Hoping it’s the opposite. Depending on how it charges and the weight of it, the Range extender should allow you to stay charging at 250kw for much longer, giving shorter charging sessions because you will gain kWh much faster.
People keep saying this, but when it hits the actual batteries it’s still only 400v per side of the split pack that’s put into series at that point. It shouldn’t make much of a difference if any .
Next up, email going out to people who ordered the range extender:
“We’re sorry, the range extender doesn’t actually work, but instead of a refund we will be giving you this nice Honda gas generator to throw in the bed of the truck when you run out of battery between superchargers.”
70mph (driving at the speed limit) with 400-500 mile epa range means you can easily make a 250-300 mile 3-4 hour drive without stopping to charge. Nice, easy, stress free road trip. Charge at destination. With the ct, not so much. There’s convenience, then there’s safety…have any of you arguing...
I’ve appreciated reading your informed and logical posts while lurking these past several years, but this is patently false.
Anyways the point is, to get anywhere near quickly and at legal speeds, the ct is very suboptimal at this point. I can’t wait until someone opens up the bed near the...
Yeah, seems like the big 3… Promise something, deliver something else including features we didn’t ask for but remove one of the most important feature for your average truck buyer; 60% of promised range, nearly double the price. At least it’s still bulletproof stainless steal, even if they did...
It feels pretty odd that Tesla didn’t figure out some simple things yet either, like how to lock the diffs?! Come on really? Among the myriad of other missing software items.
The thing is, 200 vs 500 mile range is relatively meaningless on local trips where city range comes into play, because there are chargers everywhere. The only scenario where the range actually becomes an issue is when people are driving 150+ miles, in inclement weather, and on the freeway where...
What you don’t notice on an ice vehicle (heat in cold weather doesn’t affect range because it’s free, and the engine itself makes more power) is huge on an ev. I’ve taken the same 120mile round trip in the Bay Area in 30* weather at 75mph and been getting 400+ wh per mile ( had to supercharge to...
Was hoping I wouldn’t get the invite. Got it before Christmas, went all the way through but didn’t commit, saw some range numbers and decided I need to wait. $80k for the awd seems reasonable if the lockers work well and it’s real world 0-60 numbers are good, for less $ than a fs you could have...
