If your local DMV is nice. Before you receive the actual first plates, they may be able to give it to you from the system. That’s what happened to us on Tuesday. Kind of a bummer the temporary plates don’t allow you to order personalized plates.

We just ordered it Tuesday. Was not able to order until we had the first plate numbers. The nice people at the DMV gave it to me ahead of receiving the actual plates. Very nice. That way, I can complete the order online Expect it will be for five weeks to get it.
