Tesla would need to pay for another production line to be able to reach 250K a year.
The highest installed annual production capacity for the Cybertruck that Tesla has ever reported in its quarterly earnings release slide decks is the same as the most recent one: >125,000 units (at Giga...
Agree. It could also be that some of the binder used to adhere the abrasives got melted/burnished into the metal. That can happen with too much pressure and/or too firm of a pad. Cleaning between passes helps prevent this.
I can't believe these guys called themselves professionals!
Nice! Did you try the CyberBrite directly on the iron contamination (without using Iron-X first)?
I would think it must be similar to Citrasurf 77 (which works to remove iron contamination).
That's a great video that explains why the Cybertruck is so superior. Worth a watch from beginning to end, as long as you can look past some blathering by Sandy. 🤪
Why did they replace the tailgate? Seems kind of silly when all they had to do a do-over following the sanding procedure properly. You can fix any mistakes by re-sanding. Yes, the metal is super hard and somewhat resistant to sanding, but it doesn't take that long to refinish a mistake!
Tesla specifies two different brands of abrasive pads, but only because those are the only two brands their engineers have tried and verified, any quality pad with similar specs will work. I used Festool Vlies polishing discs and Festool Platin metal polishing discs in grits between 320 and 800...
Don't be ridiculous! First, Tesla doesn't have "dealers" so I don't know what you mean by "the dealer's guy".
Secondly, any problem with the metal finish can be easily and confidently fixed by sanding to expose a fresh surface. If someone tells you differently, rather than being gullible...
You don't need abrasives to clean off dried on bugs. Just soak them in a little soap and water or rubbing alcohol and rub them off with a non-abrasive sponge made for non-stick pans. You can fix the fine scratches created by the abrasives embedded in the green side of the sponge by re-polishing...
You are dealing with complete buffoons who just want to make a lot of money with the minimum amount of effort. I still can't believe you paid them $6,000, considering they don't even know what they are doing. I'm a complete amateur and was able to follow Tesla's panel polishing procedures as...
If you would pick the Cybertruck over any other vehicle available, well, I hate to tell you, that makes you a fan. I hope this revelation isn't too distressing! ;)
We had a 2000 Volvo S80 T-6. Nice car, but neither the twin turbo or the GM manufactured transmission made it past 80,000 miles...
Are you being sincere here? You don't know the answer to these these questions?
We have gone over the first one many times, until FSD Unsupervised is released, the driver is responsible.
Like any modern car, from a legal perspective, the driver can only use the cell phone in hands free mode...
That's for sure! The cool thing about the Cybertruck is that it's excellent on-road, but can navigate challenges that every other stock 4x4 pickup would fail at. Also, the ride is a lot better than any short-wheelbase off-roader I've owned or ridden in.
Tesla had a good design strategy here...
One time two years ago. I was feeling the edge of a panel with my fingertip when a small burr drew a couple drops of blood. I took some crocus cloth to the edges so it wouldn't happen again.
No further blood draws in the last 2 years. Judging by some stories here, I guess I'm a faster than...
Your understanding is very poor. I have admitted that my Cybertruck is just as likely to suffer a PCS failure as any other Cybertruck of the same timeframe. I just don't stress about it because I can't control it.
And yes, things outside of your control are largely random. That's why people who...
Now you have gone off the deep end. I'm one of the most honest people you will ever meet. Why would I lie about the charge rate I use? And why would I charge at 24 amps when I have 4 Wall Connectors all configured to charge at 48 amps?
Oh, that's right, so I fit into the perception of me you...
No, it's about knowing the difference between things you can change, accepting the things you cannot change and tacking the things you can change, a basic recipe for happiness in life.
It's about focusing on what YOU can do do make life better and letting the things you cannot control become...
10 billion miles is an insanely huge amount of driving! The typical American driver logs 13,600 miles per year.
10 billion miles = the total driving of one average driver for ~735,000 years. It's becoming increasingly obvious that Tesla had the correct approach to FSD all along, massive amounts...
You shouldn't attack a post that you haven't bothered to read. I literally said:
Nowhere did I say everything's just "Hunky Dory", LOL!
Are you naturally unhappy, or does a rational analysis just bring out a latent unhappiness?
