I’m not certain but on my X the doors could close automatically as well. So my guess would be that the issue would be an auto presenting door in error but then the door wouldn’t be able to close if you left the proximity of the vehicle without closing it manually.

That would be highly illegal and I don’t think Tesla wants the government poking into lack of options if you need your car serviced and piss them off. At least with dealerships the next one down the road would be happy to take my business.
