It just looks awesome. I probably should have gotten a X or R1S instead for practicality but I love the unique look. And now I start to enjoy the constant attention I get. Positive or negative it’s all fun.
I don't have extremely precise data, but when the CT's had insomnia prior to the update that fixed that, I had it plugged in for days without driving it. It would lose a few % and then charge back up to the target level, and repeat this once in a while. It might not be exactly 55% at all times...
I'm annoyed about the homelink situation as well. MyQ sucks, I'm not paying a subscription fee to have much worse functionality: internet connectivity required for both the garage door and your car, account setup required, MyQ's servers have to be up, etc. Homelink requires none of those.
I set...
Tesla needs to add a charging port to the inside of the truck bed, ostensibly for solar charging while driving and stern warnings in the manual to not run a gas generator in the truck bed.
I was just telling a friend last night that no, no one has done anything unsafe on the road due to me driving my CT. And then this morning this happens, some moron intentionally slows down to a near complete stop in the middle of my lane, forcing me to dodge around him.
Checking the dashcam...
Here in the Seattle area most people hate Elon for political reasons but they’re too passive to do anything about it except give me the “Zoomer YouTuber exaggerated disgust face” or “middle age man disapproving head shake”. I smile or stare at them neutral faced, depending on my mood that day...
If they had offered round wheel as an option during order I would have taken it, only to regret it once I got to try the steer by wire. Adjusted instantly and prefer it now. It’s also easy to switch back and forth between my CT and my wife’s Y.
If it has 3 rows of seats and windows for passengers, yeah I’d probably trade in my truck for it. I’d be transporting 6 people a lot more than I’d be transporting bulky items. There’s a distinct lack of van-like EVs on the market, as defined by ability to carry 3 rows of adults. The R1S probably...
Nothing wrong with that. If I hadn't been frugal all these years I wouldn't be in the happy situation where I can contemplate early retirement in my 40s!
My Y has the FSD free trial right now. I tried it out for a road trip and was actually impressed. Not enough to want to pay $99/mo for it but enough to be sad that the truck doesn’t have it yet.
I looked into it after I placed the order but the app asked for a Montana drivers license and I gave up at that point.
The good news for me in King County WA is that a truck that weighs more than 6000lb is not subject to the RTA excise tax every year.
Does your kid's Cybertruck have unbalanced steering? 12 o'clock is straight ahead but the wheels turn much further in one direction compared to the other. Kind of annoying for a $1500 toy, but thankfully my kid is too oblivious to notice.
Nice report & pics! I hope to do the same someday. I did the North cascades loop in my CT a few weeks ago. Wonderful driving experience, only thing that was missing was the autosteer cruise control so that I could admire the scenery a bit longer. I was initially concerned about the lack of...
I was plugged into a 120V / 15amp outlet at a vacation rental and the charging rate was abysmal. About 0.5% per hour. Wasn’t especially cold, maybe 50 F. Sentry was off.
I got two of the 27 gallon Greenmade bins from Costco. A third one won't fit, they are a little bit wider than the Tesla bins. So then I got a smaller 12 gallon Greenmade bin and it fits well. Then, the vault divider pins the 27 gallon bins in place, and the 12 gallon bin won't slide around...
