  1. 🎬 Onboard video! Cybertruck Off-Road Filming... Rear Screen spotted 👍

From the very short and limited view it looks greater than the space my Volvo XC90 has. Which can seat 3 grown men tightly. That’s not bad considering this still has a 6 foot truck bed behind it and a midsize frunk. In reality, the majority of people will be hauling kids and gear. Rarely 3 grown...
  2. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Having physical selector buttons or switches isn’t inherently better. People put cars into the wrong gear with todays tech. Some people are better with change than others. Selector switches, buttons, stalks, etc are just another thing to fail or break. Software can be changed at any time to...
  3. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

There’s a great article on it. They’ve even brought back push button selectors on many modern cars. The gear selector days are numbered and have been.
  4. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Nope no regulation for that. Cars used to have the first auto gear shifters be push buttons. Wasn’t dictated by regulation then. Still isn’t. Look it up. The current model S and X use no stalks only touch screen to shift gears. Just as reliable as a mechanical piece that serves no other purpose. J
  5. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Big deal. Those features were needed when there was no alternative. Do you know how much engineering and cost goes into physical stalks and gear shifter. Stupid money wasted. Will the car go forward and reverse when asked. Yes. Done. All the moaning and groaning will be null in years when all...
  6. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

I could care less about stalks. We grew up with them doesn’t mean they must stay. I had a phone with buttons. Now nobody does. It’s the way everyone is going. Less parts equals lower cost and less things to fail. Ferrari’s have been stalk-less for years. Their sales numbers didn’t implode. & J.
  7. ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

That’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is it’s no surprise you haven’t seen anything yet. Because they can get most data from what they know and simulations. They will probably test but in controlled environments outside of prying eyes. But it’s not necessary, I think, to do all in the open...
  8. ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

Except in your example those vehicles are nowhere near the way a F150 is assembled and built. Not even close. So that’s not really a valid argument. Engineering and numbers. Nothing trivial about battery capacity, motor power requirements, weight, drag, etc. All very predictable how those...
  9. ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

My thoughts exactly. Even though the CT is ground up new in many ways. It is derivative of the Model Y 4680 and close to the X. Both of which row and rated towing capacities. J
  10. ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

Well the Model Y 4608 would be the best. It is using the same motors, similar battery pack design, front and rear mega castings, and a steel passenger compartment. Lots of data on the Y by now. That they can use to help design and cut down on iterations of the CT.
  11. New leaked video! Many Cybertrucks production completed w/ new wheel design + finished frunks!

Not to be nasty. But, if they are using the space for critical components then there isn’t lots of space for a bigger frunk. It’s kinda silly how you stated that.
  12. New Body-in-White pic shows front wheel well, front quarter window + more

If they would make a smaller one I could see them ditch the rear seating and shorten the passenger frame section. Leave the front and rear castings un-changed. Then just slap the castings onto the shorter passenger frame. Very economical and keeps the bed length the same. Smaller pack is okay...
  13. F-150 Wrapped Cybertruck Spotted Driving & Showing Hitch

As you can see. I do nothing in a tepid manner. Kudos sir! ?
  14. New Body-in-White pic shows front wheel well, front quarter window + more

Exactly, there’s not a single weld joining the front aluminum cast clip to the occupant steel frame. Boots with with some anti vibration/sealer sandwiched in between is all that join them. Same for the body panels. They’ll be blind fastened on or hidden bolted. So a front collision of...
  15. F-150 Wrapped Cybertruck Spotted Driving & Showing Hitch

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not. If you are, kudos. If not, it’s a wrap making it look like a F-150 (which has door handles). They are not real door handles. There I’ve wasted 5 min of my life. Now onto Twitter. ?
  16. ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

They designed and built the Model X. It has certain characteristics that are different and certain ones that are the same. That car was designed to tow. They can extrapolate a ton of information from the real world towing done with the X and see how the CT will perform. Remember the CT is a...
  17. ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

Well I’ve been in an engineer for almost 30 years. So instead of measuring how long our units are let’s just agree to disagree. There are plenty of instances where testing of similar design and the data gathered from those tests guide you in your design decisions. Plenty. Now when treading...
  18. ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

Given their experience with the Semi development they may not need any real world testing. They know the weight, battery capacity, and power of the CT. Given those variables and the known performance of the Semi. They can extrapolate performance under tow. They can do virtual and real world...
  19. Side-by-side comparison of prototypes shows how Tesla botched the production redesign process

Dude put down the pipe. I have no idea what you’re thinking. How many production vehicles have you ever seen come out this close to the concept?!? The bumper and front changes were probably required for pedestrian safety regulations. The other changes were more than likely done to make it at...
