I believe they are targeting the cities with already high rideshare usage. Launching a rideshare program in rural areas with less population density doesn't make sense for a short term goal.
Depending on where you live, in 15-20 years waymo, cruise would have already solved the problem. Probably no need to own a car if rides get super cheap because of competition. I currently see driverless cars running around everyday in busy environments, tight streets and they seem to be working...
For me FSD isn't really needed full time and have been renting it monthly if I was doing a a couple long road trips usually in the summer months. $15k way to expensive for what it is. Novelty for sure but wears off quickly when you have a close call running into another car or turns wide into a...
Looks like for an advertisement montage. Pretty cool tho! Tbh that semi should be fast AF unladen if it can do 0-60 in 20 seconds with 82,000 pounds it's moving.
Weatherstripping for boat mode or to keep water out of the bed after water runs down the tonneau cover toward the tailgate ? prob the latter...sorry to kill this thread lol
Look at ogre image above that's circled...those underlying structures are in plane with the door openings and sides. If you imagine them putting doors in and bolting the "sails" to those structures there's no room for storage. If the sails do bolt to that structure, the only way it would have...
Seems like tesla is upgrading all the chargers at the sites with magic dock. Which means they better get rolling on adding new supercharger sites in urban area. Its crazy in SF, we only have one real supercharger site that doesn't cost money to park at. Tesla needs to just rent some warehouses...
Oh I know, i have a model y performance and I get l get about 260 miles per charge from the EPA 303. I meant i would get the quad because it meant i would be guaranteed the larger pack vs dual with 500 miles, they never said there would be a 500 mile pack for dual motor at launch. Again...
Ok fine 2k sounds like a good deal...i think the solar tonneau might be in the $4k range. We will see! Would be awesome if Elon priced the quad motor in the $78k range to qualify for the credit. I would prob just do that if it guaranteed 500+ mi range.
I don't believe they can test crash betas...they need to have the actual vehicle off one of the lines in consumer trim level to test. I think they should have their first line up for testing by may. Knock out a couple test mules for crash testing and validation by June.
I think when reviewers get over the polarizing looks, and step inside and actually use it for what its meant for, things will be on the positive I'm sure. The electric truck market bar is not set that high tbh. CT needs to be priced competitively and be more efficient which Tesla has been doing...
The tailgate is still pretty thick, if there was no ramp why make it so thick. I'm hoping thick means there's a ramp in there somewhere, although that ramp must be very heavy. Mar 1st right around the corner!!
