  1. Cybertruck and Airstream: a Towing Trip Report

Nice rig! We just got back from Quebec City Canada with our 22 ft Alta A2124. Over the 1,000 miles we averaged 602 wpm. We too charged at campsite and mad it back to Richmond camping 3 nights. Montreal, then Shores of Lake Ontario and the last night in Lancaster PA. I drove a tractor...
  2. Great First Towing Experience ~9000 lbs (Boat + Trailer)

No boat but two trailers. An aero correct camper and a box car hauler. the aero correct camper weighs 3,000 pounds and driving speed limit with about 1/3 interstate it settled in at 601 wpm over 1,000 miles. Box trailer empty or not is the same. Ranges 750 - 850. Empty it is 1,900 pounds and...
  3. Cybertruck with Smaller Street Tires + New Wheel Covers spotted [Video Added]

These are the Pirrelli tires that were used to get more miles in the tests. NOT available retail in VA yet at least. These are the same numeric size as the stock wranglers but may not last as long, do better in rain and dry but suck in snow.
  4. Tire replacement / repair

Discount Tire is way way better than anyone I have been to. They actually torque the lugs, AND they kept the staggered tires on the Model X on the correct rims. The tire warranty does make sense to me too. I replace the OE tires with the Michelin Platinum same exact size tires but more...
  5. MOLLE Panels

Here you go. Combination of S hooks with clips, bungy cords and cinch straps.
  6. PSA: Dog Mode unsecure!! Door opened by dogs

My wife is pretty good looking and the dog mode locked her in the front passenger seat the other day. Mine is not like what the OP says.
  7. MOLLE Panels

Honestly, I just figured it out. Some simple nylon cinch straps, bungys, Stainless Steel clip hooks, I have them all on my panels. I looked at the fancy special straps and they are just too specialized and expensive. Let's face it, you don't need that stuff every day so I have a variety of...
  8. Article on Cybertruck triggering (article attached) -- The Cybertruck: A culture war on wheels

For every middle finger I have gotten two dozen thumbs up. But, that does not make me think it is okay. I guess Model T drivers got the finger from guys on horses. Certainly farmers that had the first steel wheeled tractors did not feel the love either. Why be so aggressive though? The...
  9. Mobile Charging issues and work arounds

First. THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS! Only stoooopid mistakes! Ha! Our goal was to charge at camp grounds overnight for two reasons. it is free (most places) And it is a slow charge while we sleep so it saves a charging stop each day. I understand the breaker issues and plan on step by step...
  10. Mobile Charging issues and work arounds

I am confused about charging at camp grounds. I can’t get my mobile charger to even light up when I use a 50 amp extension cord from the wall plug to the charger. Any ideas about that? Can I use a 30 amp plug adapter to step up to a 50 amp plug on the mobile adaptor? is it am impedance issue...
  11. Things I didn’t know. . .

I am confused about charging at camp grounds. I can’t get my mobile charger to even light up when I use a 50 amp extension cord from the wall plug to the charger. Any ideas about that? Can I use a 30 amp plug adapter to step up to a 50 amp plug on the mobile adaptor? I have watched a lot of...

  13. Towing a Pop Up Camper up a Mountain

Weight matters but the faster you go, aero matters more. The blunt front does hurt but the blunt back hurts a lot more than most think. I have a 7 ft tall (body height, total height is nearly 9 ft). And I use 800 wpm empty or not. It seems a 3,000 pound car inside would make a lot os...
  14. All season tires no longer available for Foundation Series

I installed Michelin All Seasons on my CT and the efficiently improved ... some. The AT tires have foam on the treadwall and the Michelin's don't so they may be noisier. Much deeper tread and probably better in rain and awful in snow.
  15. Windshield rock pitting

3,000 miles on CT and no bug splats at all! By the way, what is the last thing that goes through the mind of a bug before it hits the bug covered front facia on a CT? It's butt!
  16. 375 Wh/mi average energy consumption over 1,156 miles (after latest software update)!

I towed a Box Trailer .. 16ft long and 7ft wide and 7ft tall for 300 miles yesterday. I was able to keep it under 800 WPM but did not go over 65 and most of it was 60 or less. The trailer has a drop door ramp and a wedge front. It is all alluminum and only weighs 1,800 pounds empty with dual...
  17. Towing 28’ 7” RV trailer from San Antonio to Port Aransas and back.

I agree that the battery packs need to be bigger. Look what is in the Pepsi trucks. But, most people's use is only occasionally on trips and around town every day. Batteries and EV's ARE best in town. However, there is a trade off. On big trips, more stops, less range than ICE. Around town...
  18. Cybertruck Revivify Graphene Coating

Well, I got all that. However, my view is the SS body is supposed to be less worrisome and less maintenance than paint. I hate paint. So, spending money to get the SS to behave more like paint ... be smooth and shiny is fine ... but for me, let it age and I will keep the lumps off!
