it's not defective. if takes a few times but eventually you get it. lower it slowly until the lights come one, and then do minor adjustments until you feel like its floating in the center.
that happened to me once after the SC opened up my CT to fix another rattle. They didn't properly install it back or aligned it. Go back to the SC and they should have it fixed within an hour.
