I might of misunderstood the function. This is a stretch, but what are forums good for if not guessing about things we have no clue about lol.
If the glue is applied and panel adjustments are made before it's cured I assume that could impact the bond?
Curious to know if anybody has experience with changing the height of the panel. There's a nut under the panel that raises the height to help with panel gaps/alignment. When the nut is turned to adjust the height is the panel carrier moving with the panel? From what I can see from videos it...
@mongo Thank you for posting the images and sharing your thoughts.
In the bottom half of the image below it appears the adhesive is coming off the carrier side too. I'm guessing that's what the white discoloration is? Appears to be air space because it's not attached to the black plastic...
Okay, that makes sense. I assume that's an industry standard process, so it would be routine steps for an automotive assembly.
What do you think? Expansion and contraction of the steel? After I type this question I'm left with a sense that would be a common understanding for assembly too...
I've waited years to buy. Waiting for the right time - I thought today was the day. I dropped by this side of the forum for a final double check of my decision... glad I did, or maybe not lol. I'm sure they will fix it. Maybe it's already fixed. This is of significance enough for me to pause for...
That's my guess, just speculation... maybe there is a small amount of oil remaining on the steel that is preventing proper adhesion? I read a post from an individual that seemed fairly knowledgeable about steel properties. Their assumption is the expansion and contraction of the steel at...
I don't like that Tesla used adhesive on the body panels. I literally know nothing about the type, quantity, or bonding properties of the adhesive used. After saying that, most windshield and skyscraper glass panels are held in place with glue. Since glued on heavy glass panels don't come flying...
Thank you for providing the owners email address.
This will sound excessive without context. Keep in mind this is over a six week period for product that was listed as in stock. After a week from my initial purchase without contact I sent them an email through Shopify which was the payment...
Take this for what it's worth, there's a post from another section of the forum that says his July 2024 build needs a replacement HV battery.
Hard to figure out how far back the battery issue goes.
It's at least December as thats what is reported, but seeing posts about battery replacement for...
Somehow this has become over complicated.
I talked to Tesla rep recently.
They simply do not have any current Cybertrucks that qualify for the EV credit being discussed ($7500 EV pos credit for cash or finance).
Per the Tesla rep. when Tesla has Cybertrucks available that qualify they will...
Appears current, seeing posts on the forum about delays. Several in this subsection of the forum alone.
https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/2025-cybertruck-are-they-being-delivered-yet.25461/page-22
I don't know why, but try searching "cybertruck dented batteries". The results may provide some insight to what's causing recent delivery delays for everyone.
Below is the part that seems to be misunderstood or completely missed by some people:
"If you do not have a successfully submitted time-of-sale report, you are not eligible to claim the credit."
People are posting delivery holds to exchange their battery pack. Do you have any thoughts about that? Not specifically related to the EV credit, but more broadly what's going on here. I don't understand how that plays in to everything else, or even if it does. Totally guessing, but I assume...
It's stated on the IRS website, must be date of delivery. They even go as far as saying you should obtain the portal confirmation forms from the vendor before delivery.
I don't see that changing as it's clear.
I wonder if the lack of listing EV credit as an option from Tesla is related to the...
Seeing the same trend in my area from other vehicles in same price range. Most everything has come down 10 grand or more over the past couple months. Vehicles that were running 90 are around the same price now as the Cybertruck. Everything that was 80 a couple months ago are around 70.
