I took a quick drive for lunch at work. When I returned I was on my way to a meeting a few floors up. A guy I’ve never met chased after me as I walked down the hallway and said
“You’re back from lunch!! I’m running out to your car to take pictures!”
Um ok. I’m not happy about people...
I agree the drive by wire is just incredible.
Have to say I hate the attention. At my work word spread like wildfire. Instant celebrity status I didn’t want. lol.
For me I supercharge very rarely. Long trips only. 99% I’m around town. Plug in at night. Wake up charged.
Likely at 65mph you’re getting 270mi. If you swap the tires prob getting 290. This is all good for me as it’s typically what I get in a plaid blasting around and it has been a non...
The better version is not 9 months away. They won’t even be ramped yet on the current revision.
my guess is in 3 years we will have much cheaper versions of it, with much better batteries. Along with range options that start to make towing practical. Prob other minor refinements of...
The universal wall charger came out before they announced PowerShare. So the older model has no PowerShare badge. But it’s the same and can do PowerShare.
There were some interviews where it was clear it’s backup only.
Also the PowerShare website only lists backup as a feature. https://www.tesla.com/powershare
sure it’s a sw feature they could unlock time shifting and they might, but then it puts a lot of cycles on the battery. Pretty clear...
Foundation was super easy to justify for me - PowerShare is one of my main uses. And is hugely more useful over buying 123kwh in powerwalls, with the added ability to drive off and find a working SC to recharge my house. The included PowerShare equipment is $3-4K in value.
FSD is a great...
What you just described is 2-3 years from being what it’s supposed to be. It’s a neat demo. But takes even more attention a diligence to use safely.
Autopilot is helpful on the hwy. on city streets FSd can be downright scary. I have to constantly intervene.
FSD doesn’t really work for anyone. You just get a beta which is currently a fun toy not a tool. I have had the Beta since the beginning. It’s a novelty.
Enhanced Autopilot should come quick. And is the main thing I want asap. Very annoying to commute in the truck and not have it.
Since PowerShare equipment requires a “qualified” residence where it can be installed - it appears they are defending against just sending equipment that doesn’t have a predefined destination.
I do think they will direct ship the equipment to be installed. But it likely follows behind the...
It’s implied. You get no PowerShare. Instead you get the very low value free SC for 6mo (AWD) or 1 year (beast).
if you get refused PowerShare they are not shipping you the hardware imo. It’s just not logical for them to do so.
I don’t think the v3 gateway is even shipping yet.
I have 400A service. Will have to split PowerShare on a 200A branch and pick what it feeds.
I’m curious if Tesla will allow rate shifting with a CT since it adds battery cycles daily.
