Agreed I would definitely not recommend leaving a gap anywhere. Should retract from the hood since they need to figure that approach out for the roadster anyway.
Haha, yup. This pic I hope illustrates my point. The truck is 100% straight metal and glass..except for one massive thing...right on the front lol, and you get to look at it all the time when driving to boot. Doesn't fit at all - don't give up Tesla!!
I'm good without fancy, just not on the windshield lol. Have the top of the hood pop up 2 inches and a pop the wiper onto the windshield when the wipers are on. How much would it add to the cost - 50 bucks at most I'll bet.
Yup agreed, and agreed that it's not it's impossible to live with. I just expect more from Tesla for some reason. That perfectly flat front end and wiper design could be a showpiece of engineering. They shouldn't give up on something that prominent to the cars looks and to the drivers view...
See below link for Elon's response when Leno asks about the looks of the Cybertruck - he specifically responds to how lame it is when companies make beautiful show cars uglier. Agreed that the mirrors are worse than the wiper, but am actually quite impressed with Tesla's approach there since...
I think so. That front end is going to be displayed everywhere, and we'll all have to look at it all the time when driving, and not to mention everyone we show it to is going to laugh at it lol. It's also very anti Tesla, just slapping a butt ugly wiper on there instead of engineering the proper...
Honestly, Tesla should just have the hood pop up slightly when you turn on the wipers, which would enable the wipers to move up from that slot and wipe as normal. Honestly doesn't seem like a massive engineering challenge. Would be a huge miss if not implemented.
Feel free to participate in my biased poll. :) My take is for Tesla to re-engineer and do the wiper properly and hide it, especially since they are going to have to figure it out for the roadster anyway. Doing it properly would take this from a laughable attribute to an instant selling point of...
The wiper is terrible. Tesla should do it right and engineer to hide it ASAP. They are going to have to figure it out for the roadster anyway - shouldn't have that thing on their truck.
