Your guess-ti-mates seem pretty reasonable.
I would assume most folks will go with the Dual motor, and it will start at about $50K.
Not sure what options could do to the price, but even at $53-$54K it is a lot cheaper than an R1S.
Rivian announced yesterday they are not going to build a factory in Georgia.
They shut down those efforts.
They really didn't have the money, and still never got permits to actually build that plant. The locals were blocking the construction.
I wish there was a law that car companies couldn't "reveal" a new model until it was one year from mass production.
This concept/prototype/2 - 3 years from now vehicle looks great.
But how the heck are they going to bring the cost down that much?
Spec an R1T now, and you are $80-$90...
IDK
If there are reservation holders like us still waiting for their CTs, I wouldn't count on the price coming way down over the next 9 months.
We will see. It will depend on how many Tesla can build...
VIN #s do tell a story.
Note. Let's assume 2000 by the end of February. How do you extrapolate that if you are a hard core fan boy? "Tesla's going to delivery 150,000 Cybertrucks in 2024!"
If you are a bit more realistic, would 40-50,000 by year end seem doable?
Or just make up...
I am a couple spots behind you....
I stopped "waiting". Someday I will get an email saying I can place an order, but if that is January 2026, fine. I no longer keep looking out the window thinking today will be the day.
The huge delivery queue is an issue though. Promoting the Cybertruck...
I hope.
Although battery tech improvements seem to be moving forward fairly slowly (see 4680s, etc). From 2014 to 2024 what have the gains been in battery efficiency % wise?
We do need some type of breakthrough. But if you look at the internal combustion engines. Mileage improvements did...
You can check my threads going back a couple of years - I always thought the Cybertruck would come in about $80,000, pushing towards $90,000. (I reserved a TriMotor so I expected a higher price). I took some flak from folks here on the message boards that Tesla would never price it that...
Tiffany and Gucci have a very nice niche marketing strategy and the buyers they have gladly pay for their products.
But Tiffany and Gucci don't desire to reach mass markets or the average consumer.
What we do know, is only a small % of US consumers can "afford" a Cybertruck Foundation Series.
Even when the price comes down to $79K, it will still be a small # of buyers who will / want to spend that much on a vehicle.
If you ordered on Dec 1, you are probably #375,000 in line.
Ordering on 11/26 is WAY better.
If you want a Foundation Series, that moves you way up the list as well.
If you want a non FS, $79,000 Cybertruck, it is unclear when a Nov 26, 2019 reservation holder can get that version CT...
Only limited edition $99k/$120k Foundation Series Cybertruck’s for 2024?
Answer, yes.
And for all those folks here on the message board that beat me up when I said the Cybertruck would cost $99,000 when it finally came out....well you can always believe that the Cybertruck will come down in...
My guess would be yes, $100K or more for Cybertrucks in 2024.
I feel bad for those dreamy eyed folks that thought they would get a Cybertruck for $50-$60,000 dollars.
If we can start getting a $79,900 Cybertruck in 2025, I guess we will have to be grateful.
The take away should be that the Rivian and Lightning are also both good pickup trucks.
The Cybertruck has come out a couple of years later, but would it be fair to say the CT did not leapfrog the two "older" EV trucks by a wide margin?
Each one has its pros and cons. Great that buyers have...
I would tow it 50-75 miles one way, assuming there is a Charger at the destination.
I am sure I could go further, but what if the Charger(s) are down? And most likely you have to find a place to drop the trailer somewhere, then drive to the charger.
I love having an EV, but if I towed an...
I currently have a Lightning.
I tow the boat....not long distances....so range is never an issue.
Although I do try to have it at 90% SOC when I head out.
I definitely would not try towing it 300-400 miles in a day.
