It's not a conspiracy theory. It's a small spec of hope that we'll get a battery swap. Highly unlikely based on the reasons previously listed. BUT it would be sweet . Perpetual optimism.
Perhaps they removed it because they are releasing a long range version soon with a larger battery pack. I.e. it's not a range extender we'll be getting, but really a battery swap. It's wishful thinking, but gotta hope.
After driving and running a fleet of diesels for years I simply wanted an electric truck to reduce my carbon footprint and couldn't believe in my lifetime one was actually going to be mass produced and sold. In the US. That was enough for me to throw a deposit and support the cause.
And after...
My truck has been solely parked outside in rural Wisconsin since May 2024 around plenty of stray cats and other critters. No cat burglars yet. I wouldn't worry.
I drive through Northern Minnesota frequently and never saw range dip below 200 miles this winter, with winter tires and at 30 below. Where are you at?
Have them go out with you. I had a tech who drove with me and couldn't reproduce it until I explained exactly how it happens. Slow tight turns and letting off the accelerator.
Initially, I don't think they believed me. But after the tech heard the sound he opened up a bit and by the sound...
Just had mine fixed for this exact issue. It's been going on for months and only really made a the noise going down parking ramp spirals. After awhile it started doing the noise on both left and right turns. VIN 66XX. Axle Shafts.
I had to delay my initial service appointment and just got my truck back. After putting in for shaking door and mirror, here is the response after service "ran thermal test, no rattle or squeak present at this time."
Any techs on here no what a thermal test entails?
Fully agree, and the fact that most people who would click into a poll like that are also looking for more information on the extender they're waiting on.. myself included.
The foundation series wasn't a $20k "premium for the privilege" it was for a fully loaded CT at the time of release.
