I have 3 power meters on my house, 1 for car charging (reduced rate), 1 for geothermal (reduced rate) and 1 for house main. I don't think I'll be able to power my house or geothermal from a connected Cybertruck unless there are fancy transfer switches or something.
The rear motor puts out almost 2x the total F150 lightning HP? That's a little nuts.
Edit: Signage states "...front locking differential, producing a combined 845 HP". Still a lot, but looks like front and rear motor output combined is 845 HP.
Tri-motor with rear motors using torque vectoring opens up the possibility for active trailer sway assistance. Wonder if that's an item in the "towing and hauling" menu.
If they allow any wheel package with any performance package, maybe I'll get the 18" and wear down those tires, then get aftermarket 20's with M+S and winter tires for the 18" when they wear out at the end of the season.
I don't think it will roll down, but I would love it if It could. Then I could carry my 10'-12' lumber inside the closed vault.
Secondary thought: Will the rear window have defrosters? With so many people saying the can't fit it in the garage, will the closed vault prevent frost on very...
I run winter tires from November through April so pretty much 5-6 months for winter and 6-7 months for summer. The I have a P90D with staggered summer wheels and non staggered winters. The rear tires definitely wear out faster than the fronts. OEM rears were down to the belts in 2 driving...
Yeah, driving in low reduces the angle of the half shaft between the motor CV and wheel CV, reducing the pressure on the internal CV bearings and likelihood of bearing raceway spalling. This is what makes me wonder if they either redesigned the CV/half shafts to account for more suspension...
I guess the Model X does have speed limits as well as a speed over-ride, but I haven't messed with it since I don't want to have to replace my out of warranty half shafts again.
I'm guessing the Cybertruck will operate similarly, as you described. Thing about the Model X/S suspension is that...
We haven't seen pictures of the Cybertruck front motor axial alignment with the outer CV joints yet. If we had that, then we could possibly gain confidence on the suspension/drive engineering as well as lay to rest any suspicions of SbW. From what I've read, the Model X has increased half...
Yeah, you can get a wheel alignment to set the camber at whatever ride height you're going to drive at most to mitigate the camber wear when lowering, which is why I'm wondering if there will be distance limits on High ride settings. People get trucks and modify suspension ride heights for...
I have a '16 Model X that has gone through a few half shaft warranty replacements and 3 sets of summer and 2 sets of winter tires. When I first purchased it, I drove at normal height with the automatic lowering set for highways speeds. The OEM tires didn't last a year with excessive wear on...
I'm not saying that it's not SbW, but I'm not seeing anything in this video that positively confirms that it's SbW. I agree that it has a low lock to lock handwheel rotation. Looks to be around 180 instead of the more common 270 degree, but that alone doesn't mean SbW, it just means there's a...
Meticulously cleaned the side windows or insane hydrophobic treatment? It will be interesting to see how the tonneau storage area handles dirt and leaves, and how accessible it will be to flush that area out.
We're okay in my Model X, but longer trips requiring more luggage and all the accoutrements that accompany young kids has it packed to the gills. The falcon wing doors have been absolutely amazing for installing car seats and buckling kids in them. When the twins were young, it worked with...
