I'm not sure if I follow that logic... I sort of see where you are coming from the Model S refresh was released much sooner. The CT will only come out when we have 4680s in some decent volume. Plus Musk said Quad first... right?
Shameless self promotion... lol

Your point on ICE vehicles and their current value is part of what convinced me to make the move. And in fact, since then I valued my current ICE vehicle and it's...
Absolutely. That’s the appeal of a Miata MX5, the stick shift, lightweight engine and chassis, just you, a seat, an engine and some cogs. If only I lived in the mountains.
Long time Mazda fan, owned three of them when they always injected some fun into their vehicles. Loved their ethos, their designs were invariably beautiful and lets not forget, Tesla's lead designer is ex-Mazda. The Model S had a reasonable resemblance to the Mazda 6.
I drove and loved an RX8...
Sad but true.
I still enjoy Chris Harris sometimes, at least his old Youtube channel, not sure how active it is now he's on Top Gear (I think).
I used to enjoy the long reads of in depth motoring publications, I would buy every mag as soon as it hit the newstands, pour over every word. There...
lol - Great video, the Model Y is truly amazing, can't wait to get mine. Mine is the Performance, his will be a LR because he's boring. ?
Yeah, not the same, the Corvette is beautiful. GM did an amazing job.
Agreed! I knew so much about Musk and Tesla, I should have trusted my instincts. Ah well... Coulda Woulda Shoulda.
True about performance of the Y vs the Vette. It's more the raw sex appeal of the vette, more traditional sports car experience. It's unlikely we'll do it but it's a fun thought...
I struggle with the idea of spending $100K on a vehicle, that's a rental property. It doesn't matter how many features it has.
I too will benefit from the appreciation of TSLA and I'm continually investing more, so perhaps it would assist in the purchase but still... The Model Y I just ordered...
Agreed. I was really pissed after the quad announcement. I'm relatively phlegmatic about it overall now, but as a long time supporter, believer etc. it sucked to have the rug pulled out... at least, it seems like that's what they were doing. Now I'm a big boy and understand Tesla owes me nothing...
Mozart and Britney Spears is all just music, who cares which one it is?
I get it, you don't care, but those of us who dig and follow and think about these things do.
Ah yes... my dad bought a 286 and I was so excited... then my friend's dad bought a 386 and I was like WTF? Then my dad bought a 386 and I was banned from installing Wing Commander on it. However, when he was away I would install, enjoy the better graphics and performance and then delete it...
hmmmm... I don't believe that is an option where I am. It's always been a choice between trade-in and reduced sales tax or sell your own and lose the sales tax advantage. Sucks!
I'm a geek, who has followed Tesla obsessively for many years. I know that Y's from Austin will use some different manufacturing techniques such as front and rear castings. They also may have 4680 cells, no one but Tesla knows when. 4680 cell based Y's with front and rear castings could be a...
This thread is a bit silly IMO.
The competition? Overpriced, under spec'd and even if there is some "mass" production before CT, once production of the CT ramps Tesla will quickly surpass their production volume. There will be way more CTs on the road at that point.
Everytime I think about...
