Well I now live in the US of A so I've experienced a bit of both. Having grown up in a country without any large carnivores or even just pissed of omnivores (excluding humans) the idea of camping with stuff that can munch on your liver if it's feeling peckish is pretty damn eye opening. Dealing...
Well, I'm just planning on sleeping in the bed for now. I have to see how much camping I do that way and how much my kids like it. I have to see if there is any good spots in my area (or within say half a day's drive). If it's something I take up, might consider investing in some accessories...
I wish for it to be different, but can't argue with the logic especially the point about NVH. The solid wall would seem to be a lot easier to seal, one less point of failure etc. although a sliding window seems like less of a problem in that regard, with on where for it to go, it's problematic...
Yeah, I had three kids in the car too! It's an extremely competent car, I almost didn't notice! The car stayed controllable. It's really a superb piece of engineering. VW know a thing or two about making cars. Anyway, I think the tire stayed on the rim most of the time, was probably flat due to...
Agreed!! Hurry up Tesla!!
The image attached is a big reason why. I love my Golf R, but I've had so many flats and slow leaks. This was the latest and the worst, the tire completely came of the rim, I must have hit something. Thankfully I was able to exit the highway and change it for the donut...
yeah, you would think a window that lowered would be somewhat simple and could be how you supply A/C rather than having to duct it. Reminds me of the old station wagons that had rear glass that wound down. The fancy ones were even powered. Ahhh memories. Anyway, as long as a reasonable sized...
I waver between believing the hype and then being unsure... My gut feel is we'll have something akin to level 3 by the end of next year. Of course, that's based on nothing other than pulling it out of my arse. LOL
This is what cracks me up about people being so terrified of Australia. I camped all the time as a kid, teen and adult. I never, ever had to worry about being eaten by something. I'll take spiders and snakes over a bear any day. A few simple precautions like checking your sleeping bag and shoes...
Good to hear. As I said, never had a truck before so not sure how common this is. Done lots of camping, but it was always in a tent or under the stars. Bit older now, so like the idea of a mattress and A/C plus it's a gentle introduction for the kids. :)
If the window rolled down you could at least shimmy over into the cabin. That would be something at least. I feel like the midgate is too much to hope for, but fingers crossed.
I think the 4680 supply are better used in the CT for now. If the CT was further away you might have the luxury of using the Model S and X to work out the kinks but that's a lot of reengineering and retooling for the S.
The CT will be my first truck so I'm not much of a truck expert but I would think a sliding glass window opening would be sufficient for a pass through for me. I mostly want to be able to sleep in the bed with my kids, have A/C and access to the cabin in case I want to stow anything in there and...
I suspect a wrap is the best option here... I wish Tesla would offer factory wraps for all their cars. Volume, being able to do it perhaps during the manufacturing process etc. could make it much cheaper potentially... Going 3rd party after the fact is $$$$... not worth it IMO.
