I would say the cybertruck project is currently a failure.
Not because the truck is bad or because they won't sell, but because it started as a goal to create a work truck that wasn't so expensive you were scared to scratch it. In part because of their celebrated manufacturing.
Instead it's...
61k for truck that doesn't even have 4 wheel drive? RWD trucks in this day and age shouldn't exist, bit pointless.
The slower speed and less range is expected but the drive is killer for a truck.
I want it to be successful so I think mid sized is best for several reasons.
Performance for EV is vastly Improved for mid size (we are talking serious extra milage)
Functionally mid size is better because it fits more purposes than a full size truck which can be too much for many applications...
This is something the competition and media have not realised about tesla yet, The cars themselves are not the breakthrough as they are fairly plain and minimalist. Their winning hand is the ability to fire cars out of the factories at record speed with modern tech and ability.
Pretty sure its...
I have not been too active online lately so havnt engaged in this thread as much as I would have liked, I will say though some good opinions on here.
My opinion after reading the comments from the pro crowd to the con crowd is I think they are certainly ready.
Did not know it was EU/US law...
There is slight issue there by reports of Honda E drivers here in the UK. The issue is when looking forward then changing to screen it can take a moment for your eyes to adjust to a flat screen instead of mirror. takes a moment to get depth perception sorted.
They say you eventually adapt to...
A different subject but lane splitting or filtering here in UK, is safer for all involed and should not be illegal anywhere.
It actually keeps you away from harmful vehicles and clears your view of the road ahead. This in turn also eases congestion making it easier for cars to get around.
Kind of what I'm thinking, I loved the sleek look of CT with no mirrors and for General use its how I would roll :)
On a side note since this started a debate on practicality of mirrors/cameras, The Honda E already has a full camera system thats functional. There are few more new evs going that...
So, Im currently looking for my first EV since CT seems a way off. Recent trend with competitor pricing/Economy also leads me to believe I wont be able to afford one :).
That said I began my search for a new small ev and one thing has popped out at me - Camera rear view. I remember the...
There are a fair few worldwide reservations also which are hanging in the wind like mine, UK.
Its unlikely ours will go through as focus will be US and different regs here, possibly preventing sales.
I also think price will kill worldwide orders. Chances of the original price being honoured...
If my reservation ever makes it to the UK I will proudly drive it all the the time. Knowing full well I look like a right **** with a single pack of crisps in the center of the truck bed. 😀 (chips US translation)
I think it might be due to worldwide market, I was always doubtful I'd get the OG CT because around EU windshields and front bumbers have to meet safety for pedestrian impact. At least I hope its that because its a better reason than appealing to the haters which will hate regardless.
They have ruined the cybertruck with the curved front end! I get the wipers and mirrors but they have taken away the main draw of the truck, its style. Starting to look like a standard truck :-(
Thanks for all the pics! I'm from the UK so will be a long time before I see it in person and these pictures always feel much more real than promotional stuff.
Need someone to go in with 360 camera so we can view in vr XD
